Buggy Tire inner tubes

lunchbox - 20-1-2009 at 01:58 PM

So I received about 4 new CARLISLE Wheelbarrow 480-8 NHS 4 Ply that came with my PL XR+ buggy...Thanks Sean!

I now need to find some inner tubes for them which got me thinking. If I had to replace an existing tube and I needed to replace it the same day, are there retailers that might sell those kind of tubes...after all they are just wheelbarrow tires?

Also...have you seen or can you comment on the "indestructible" Carlisle tires....Tried to find the link but couldn't. Same size tire but it showed a picture of nails and other sharp stuff in the tire. A lot more expensive but maybe worth it in my case?

Note - I use Slime but sometimes a tube just needs to be replaced.

Most hardware store should have the tubes you'll need

If possible get another rim and tire just have it set aside for a spare for outings then replace/repair the flat when you get down time

I'm not to sure on what Carly's your talking about but if I'm sucking up a butt load of nails and "other "sharp stuff I'd be looking for another area to get my riding in instead of tires..

No nails....just a lot of bush thorns. I would like to find another spot but living in L.A. doesn't give you too many choices that are relatively close to home and this spot is pretty big, has pretty clean inland winds and is only about 30mins away....

I'm going through the same thing... I just called a lawn mower repair shop, they said they were out of stock, but they usually carry them. Just make sure you get the sizes right... different kinds of tires are measured differently.

4.80/4 x 8 is what you need for the standard tires.

On my bug, I have one carlisle tire in the front... havent had any issues with it at all. My other two are just standard wheelbarrow tires... seems like I'm always getting flats.

I'm about to go to Home Depot and see if they have any tubes for myself... I'll let you know.

Home depot has the slime tubes in the right size for around $11 each. Theyre in the wheelbarrow area.

They were actually cheaper than on the slime website.

Thanks for the offer Ricardo...!

That's what I call a blowout...did that happen at speed...If so, yikes!!!

Dirtslide / Kiterider / Bladerunner wanted to see my speeds (my speedo broke). so i went out strapped with a GPS as my last ride of the day with a Nitro Evo 4.9, and got upto ~38mph and heard a pop, thinking my NOS water bottle hose hit the ground. than i started to slow down, and looked over my front fork my tire went flat ... that inner tube held up for a good time. dropped one foot to the ground to slow down ... packed kite ... started walking back to camp, miles away.

in the distance i see a Jojo that i reconize, jumping and waving like a madman. its Sunset Jim!!! hooked my flat front wheel to his rear, and got a tandem back. YOU ROCK JIM, and you saved me from a 45min walk towing a 77lb buggy back to camp nearing sunset.

nabx story of 2008. hehehehe
