Tomorrow's forecast is 15-20, gusts to 30. What do you fly in that for a buggy? 2.5? 3.5? I have about 15-20 hours of flying time with a 3.5 Rage, but
probably nothing over 16-18. Today I was flying!!! fastest I've been!

Gusts to 30 for mortal buggiers would dictate something in the 2m range. I wouldn't want any more than that unless you had wide open spaces to let it
roll on. 15-20 smooth and I would get as large as a 5m, or a 4m buggy kite would be nice there too if you are closer to the 20 mark. Be careful in
that stuff. The wind power probably doubles or more between 20 and 30.

a piggly wiggly bag comes to mind........................:duh::duh: if you do go
out make sure to launch and land at the edge of the wind window......straight downwind land or launch could get hairy and make sure to lean
back...............:duh::duh:

I've flown an 8m depower in winds 15-20 with gusts up to 30 before, but I wouldnt recommend it...

I think the first one I would put up is a 1.8... if I felt underpowered a 2.5... I guess it would depend on the frequency of the 30mph gusts.
I buggy with someone here that would fly a 4m Access. That little kite is great for that kinda wind.

i hope it holds up for a couple of days
itching for solid wind esp. put this phantom15m thru the funkjunk mongers mill
20-30mph would be sweet
PHREERIDER - 11-2-2009 at 06:46 PM
today was good 15-25mph very rough water but phantom fun prevailed

post sesh report...steady 18-20, some 22 or so. Flew the 3.5 Rage and had a blast! I think I'd use a 2.5 or 3 if I had it, but we never got the 30, so
I was ok. I was only thinking safe, as I knew I was pushing it...I want to stay on the underpowered side of things as I'm new, but it was a good
learning experience. I did get spanked on the butt during an ugly launch, but for the most part kept safe. I have a new understanding of how fast
things can go wrong.
Do kite killers ever malfunction really bad? What do I watch for?
