Where are the kiters on this forum

USA_Eli_A - 19-2-2009 at 11:55 PM

well where are they?

ARE YOU JUST GOING TO TALK OR KITE!?

burritobandit - 20-2-2009 at 01:18 AM

what

Edit:

Oh ok.

Kitelandboarded last Saturday at a park, kiteboarded on water last Sunday, kiteboarding on water tomorrow, and no wind forecasted this Sunday so perhaps I'll Ebay some C-kites or something...

I've managed to kite one or both days of the weekend almost every weekend since the New Year :frog: I hope this trend continues! (knocks on wood)

heliboy50 - 20-2-2009 at 01:23 AM

My buddy and I flew Monday, even though the wind was poop. Need bigger kites. Also putting the finishing touches on the home built buggy. That and still recovering from broken ribs from the last time I flew:embarrased:

flexiblade - 20-2-2009 at 01:31 AM

It's been a crappy season down the coast - I've gotten a total of 3 days in the bug over the past 2 months and not for a lack of trying - I hope the spring picks up - there's always NABX. - plus I'm nursing a torn achiles tendon from a month ago.

ripsessionkites - 20-2-2009 at 02:40 AM

i've been find an hour here and there before work to tune my kites for nabx. does that count?

see you at nabx, bro / top 10!!!

macboy - 20-2-2009 at 03:28 AM

I'm still working through my monster project here - and of course today, with good winds and no chance of getting away from this desk.....worse yet, no chance of getting out of this CHAIR!!!!!

mmmmm.......coffee...........

beachrights - 20-2-2009 at 03:59 AM

I have not flown in a good month or so! Crappy weather every day off have prevented me from flying. 20 degree weather and 30mph very gusty winds are not fun or safe to do ANYTHING in LOL!!

I am officially a lurker on this site!:ticking:

Spring better come soon!

BeamerBob - 20-2-2009 at 04:50 AM

I buggied 4 days in a row this past long weekend, did a static fly of the Montana, and buggied for an hour and a half yesterday. Just a little bit more and it'll be enough won't it?

PHREERIDER - 20-2-2009 at 06:23 AM

i am daily my friend (and nightly)

dylanj423 - 20-2-2009 at 07:06 AM

Weekly at best lately... they bulldozed my spot, and my new spot is 45 minutes away.

BeamerBob - 20-2-2009 at 07:16 AM

If I'm on here, its because I'm already stuck in front of the computer for other reasons or because the browser is open on one of 3 computers. If I'm not kiting, I'm thinking about when I can, who I might get to fly with, any other stuff I need to do it, and anything I might need to do to the stuff I have to make it better.

PHREERIDER - 20-2-2009 at 07:48 AM

Bladerunner - 20-2-2009 at 08:25 AM

f0rgiv3n - 20-2-2009 at 09:04 AM

maybe this rubbed me the wrong way but it seems as though you are questioning manho... i mean kitehood...?

Sthrasher38 - 20-2-2009 at 10:23 AM

NO wind No kiting. I have to go with Flexi and beachrights. Conditions are not good for nor cal right now.Bladerunner, Is that the old pulse your still in love with?

furbowski - 20-2-2009 at 10:50 AM

keyboard kiting for me...:frog: :moon:

back to HS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s beaches next week, tho...:wee:

I'm totally skint these days, so I'll be hopefully building gilligan's bamboo buggy and a plydoor while there the next few months...

Bladerunner - 20-2-2009 at 10:56 AM

YUP !

Just a little over a year now ! I would scoop up a 10m Pulse or Pulse 2 to go with it if Canadian money wasn't so bad right now.

I can see the reason for so many moving to arcs but fortunately for me , when we get wind it is usually nice and clean.

You will have to take a good look at it now. I doubt you will see it while eating my dust at NABX this year

Sthrasher38 - 20-2-2009 at 11:04 AM

Hopefully the wind hits around 30-40 And I can smoke you with a little Beamer.:P And wait a minute. Dust? Senior citizens Can't go fast enough to make dust can they?:lol:Just messin /w ya. I just had a b-day also 42 Strong. Don't worry I have respect for my elders i'll take it easy on ya this year. If we can get on the lake together more than twice.

Bladerunner - 20-2-2009 at 11:12 AM

WE ARE ON!

Young Stuff :tumble:

I have a 3m Blaze now. If you still have yours we could make this an even match ! As in, WHO can blow up the Blaze fastest :wee:

I would race you in a buggy but I doubt anybody else would have a Rocky Horrorville for me to risk it in !

Sthrasher38 - 20-2-2009 at 11:22 AM

Sweet! Yea I have one. If worst comes to worst And you wanna ride in the rockville horror we can always get susans dog basket and you can ride in back. All b/s aside. It's good to hear from you bro.Look forward to seeing you again this year. "Oh" wait a min. The ol famous Bladerunner is speaking of the Blaze 3m. I didn't see it in your sig. Sorry you had to stoop to my level to make me feel I had a chance.

Bladerunner - 20-2-2009 at 02:27 PM

I haven't even flown the Blaze. I traded it with Macboy. Mostly because I felt he could get better use out of my 3m Brooza than I was getting.

Besides I have never had the pleasure of blowing a kite up like you, so I thought I'd get the same model :wink2:

C'ya on the Playa !

geojones - 20-2-2009 at 04:55 PM

ive flown nearly every day for the last month.......about 25 or 30 for a high temp--so what....as long as its above 20 i'll be there.......man,i think i'm addicted:smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin::smilegrin:

johnnylaing - 20-2-2009 at 10:49 PM

Every day...some static but mostly in the bug...I love it. I moved to the coast 3 years ago to play in the wind...windsurfed or landsailed 300 or more days a year since...you won't catch me in a gym. But thanks for challenging the collective ego.

acampbell - 21-2-2009 at 06:51 AM

I budget 2 days a week regularly with a work schedule that allows me to choose most of the time based on wind and tide.

Today: low tide at 12:08 pm and on-shore breezes. High temps in the 50's will keep the Muggles away for wide-open park-and-rides, I hope.

Johnny see you there late morning. Gotta get you under the Blurr today....

USA_Eli_A - 21-2-2009 at 08:38 AM

dam F(@$#& offshore winds for today. Just like it's been most of the winter so far.

Still, no bad day at the beach... I'll be out there...

burritobandit - 21-2-2009 at 08:09 PM

Kited with some buddies today at the local lake from 12-4ish. Winds were mid-high 20s gusting well into the 30s. Had my 11 out at first, but was getting overpowered in the gusts, so I busted out the 9. I love the quick steering on the smaller kites!

I was boosting a lot today. I know need to start throwing grabs in and other stuff, but the gusty winds we have here really make me focus on simply landing/surviving :shocked2: Plus the water and airtemps were pretty freakin cold, so biffing it wasn't pleasant at all ;/ I face planted once (and I got the kite wet :sniff: ) , and later overrotated when popping off some chop causing me to slide backwards on the water :/ (I didn't get THAT kite wet tho ;) )

I can't wait for the warmer weather and water to biff it with impunity! :frog:

heliboy50 - 22-2-2009 at 12:56 AM

Got some flyin' in today too over at the air field. Little gusty and I'm still a little gun shy after my boo-boo but was scudding all over the grass there. Buggy nearing completion as well.

action jackson - 22-2-2009 at 04:08 PM

Just back from 3 weeks of New Zealand and Tasmania. It was off hook kiting fun! Had 15 sessions in 19 days! Kiting with penquins and seals in aquamarine blue water and white sands.....................aj

PHREERIDER - 22-2-2009 at 05:49 PM

AJ ! how's that 12 synergy.

had nice afternoon session today
gusty! 15-30mph (may have been as high as 35mph) so V13 was the only rig fly'n on a cold WNW

kiter friend runs a 12m X bow and he had to shut down after the first hour, the other crew just around the corner didn'i even get out

blah blah blah rip blah blah kite blah blah blah wind blah blah blah vucking treetop air..... making me sick, making them sick watching blah blah blah just getting my fix

action jackson - 22-2-2009 at 08:47 PM

The 12m synergy turns as fast as the 6m phantom! Wow the float and lift was insane but the kite really excells in wave riding! It has the power but stall when you need it!Many times this trip i was face to face with 6-9 ft waves that i just need to hop to get over and a flic of the bar and i was there. Had a few good session on the 19 but not not enough yet. Still getting on with the new board. I got a Decay 144x44 custom in New zealand. Nice size for arcs.................aj

BeamerBob - 22-2-2009 at 08:51 PM

I had a session today with winds from 3-20. How do you pick a kite in that? I tried the montana, but it didn't like the lulls. Fell back to the reactor and it would go from barely staying in the sky with no power to oh crap how am I going to turn around. Had to go to kite killers twice when I ran out of room or was going to get yanked out. I was boxed in by single line kites several times. But I was flying a kite and riding the buggy. Twice this week, after 5 sessions last weekend. It's been a good week.

canuck - 22-2-2009 at 10:17 PM

Finally, two consecutive days snowkiting Yee Ha:singing:

Fresh tracks, 2-3" powder on smooth ice, sunshine and mild temperatures (its winter in Canada eh!). Light winds (5-12kph) but my XXXL cranked up to 30 kph

Krohn1999 - 23-2-2009 at 04:24 AM

Just got back from 3 days of Les Hemmes in France. The first two days were not that great flew the 13 Century most for the first day (till the wind totally died and I was about two miles from base camp, I got to walk back) Second day I started with the 13, then the 10,8 and ended the day with the 8,3. Third day was kick a$$
we had 18 mph wind and were flying the 6.4 and the 8.3 Reactor

In 5 weeks we will be going to Browersdamm in Holland and get to kite for two weeks.

Bladerunner - 23-2-2009 at 10:13 AM

Glad to here you are taming the " Big Green Monster " Canuck !

2 weekends in a row at Whisters Green lake . Another 1st !

Sounds like everyone needed big kites. The 13m served me well !!

Next week the dry lakes !
By the time I get back to our little park at home I'm going to find in very small . :smug:

burritobandit - 23-2-2009 at 12:30 PM

Kitelandboarded at East Beach in Galveston,Tx yesterday afternoon. Rolling and sliding around on that hardpacked sand felt awesome! Winds were onshore so I was able to ride the entire length of the park :D

dylanj423 - 23-2-2009 at 12:45 PM

ugh.... one week until i live close to the beach... i can hardly wait:evil:

USA_Eli_A - 23-2-2009 at 05:17 PM

not working and being able to find very good work sucks....but all the kiting I can get in is FN sweet.

anyone hiring?

ahahahahahahahahaaaa

WolfWolfee - 23-2-2009 at 06:51 PM

What do you do? Skills other than kiting?

burritobandit - 23-2-2009 at 07:13 PM

Kitelandboarded today after work for around an hour... Winds were actually pretty decent for it being late afternoon in Austin... I was actually powered (most of the time) on my BladeIV 4.9
