Bummer month for me. I need someone to dump on so here we go. First my B day. Yea! 42. Did nothing special, No big deal. My boss of the last 6 yrs.
Tells all of us things are getting tight with no work. We had been working like mad men with no end in site. Ask anyone who knows me. This was a shock
to us. So, ok. He asked if we would still work for him but not doing Electricial. He wanted us to start moving everything out of our new office we
just built and moved into the year befrore. His wifes dream he said. Ok we are all pretty good friends on a personal level so we said ok whatever you
need. I don't know what happened! It was a giant blow out sale. They were selling everything. We were a good company We did electricial, Commericial,
residential, home theatre, and whole house automation lighting. They were selling the clocks off the walls! So 3 weeks later I am the only one left.
Everthing is at their house and what we had in storage I think they just let go. Everyone was paid off.(Employees) So They are going to try to run the
business out of there house. The whole time saying everything will be ok we will be up and running again in a couple mo. They never really told me
what happened I feel bad for them. the best people you could ever meet. So My boss tells me ok thanks for all you help and paid me well. I gotta lay
you off for a few mo. The un-employment line here I come. Working from there house. I have done a few service calls visiting as normal. Things are
looking up for next mo. Then yesterday his wife calls me... Hey, can you come over. I get there and she tells me Brent Died last night. What! My boss
and good friend of 6 years is gone. (heart artery). Well I am pretty floored by this. Sorry for being off topic of kiting. But other than my wife I
had no one else to dump on thanks for hearing me out. Starting a new at 42! (RIP) Brent, You will be missed.kiteNH - 26-2-2009 at 10:09 AM

Times are tough and so is Sthrasher ! I trust you'll find a way to carry on.
I'm sure the timing isn't exactly right at the moment but perhaps you can team up with your departed ( R.I.P. ) Bosses Wife and help keep the old

Sorry for the multiple losses.
Time to tune the kite skills, clear your head, and take solace in the fact that a door never closes without another opening......................
It should be clear to you by now that you are in a lot peoples thoughts and prayers. Best of luck to you.awindofchange - 26-2-2009 at 04:36 PM

Hey Skip - Good to see that you're reaching out at this time - the worst thing would be for you to just disappear for a while - we'll be hooking up
soon enough for you to get some proper buggy time in down at the OB. Hang in there meng - things will get better and in the mean time we are running
into the beginning of our season - so at least you got that going for you. See you sooner than later.

A great number of people, including myself, have found solace when the chips are down in Stan Rogers' song the Mary Ellen Carter:
And you, to whom adversity has dealt the final blow
With smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go
Turn to, and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain
And like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again.
Rise again, rise again - though your heart it be broken
Or life about to end.
No matter what you've lost, be it a home, a love, a friend,
Like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again.
For those not familiar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT-aEcPgkuA
The video features the interview of a man who claims the song saved his life. I suspect that many of us will be singing this song for inspiration in
the economic hard times to come.
Our thoughts are clearly with you.

Thanks Scudly for the tear jerker. I needed that. Johnny at 34 is a great loss also. sorry. Brent was 46. He didn't like funerals so his wife is
having a (Celebration of life) get together at their house on sun. That will be good.Scudley - 2-3-2009 at 04:39 PM
Your very welcome; glad you liked it. BladeRunner will tell you that flying when your down is great medicine. If the wind is up ask Dakitez for the
Reflex. Get your mind off the troubles for a few minutes.
SSthrasher38 - 3-3-2009 at 02:59 PM
Yea Dakitez!! Where is the reflex???DAKITEZ - 3-3-2009 at 04:26 PM

The Reflex's name is Colorado Chico, named after a mountain in Chile I had a small part in destroying. (In most languages with gendered nouns kites
seem to be male.) He most definitely does not like to get wet.:wink2:
Sthrasher, I like the attitude: I have had a series of personal disasters, where is the kite? When the going gets tough, I go flying.
SDAKITEZ - 3-3-2009 at 05:23 PM
