Anyone ever rode/seen one before?
On the lower half of the catalog page,
Audax Kite Boards
there are several kite styles of this unusual French board which I can't seem to find reviews about in english.
When clicking the individual pix, part of the descriptions include stuff like:
"The 7" lateral wheels assure good performances on soft sand. With KITBT, you can change and put 10" off-tyres which could be very important on
soft sand."
The site's video gallery links are broken (which make me wonder if the boards are still being produced). But a few links on a yahoo video search still
work - one showing a kiter slashing through the tide line - not exactly "soft sand" - but plenty slushy!

looks like a dirt surfer with training wheels :singing: Cool concept

It's a bit smaller than a DS, and the trainer wheels help with the carving (esp. at slower speeds?).
I think the initial models were another attempt at reproducing dry snowboarding, and the kite specific models followed.
But I'm mostly mystified how they are supposed to do so well in soft sand.
The site has some demo models available at reasonable Euro rates (they also rent them out). But shipping them over here would be the problem. And I
didn't find any US retailers for them yet.
