just saw your sig and my location came up.

Garry Point is great for riding, but the comment on normal SW winds is wrong, those are rare. we normally get West or Northwest winds. winds are stronger in the Spring Time than Summer Time. also i should mention that Winter Riding sux, the area in the center of the field gets plugged up and creates a huge goose poo pond, and we hope it freezes over which never happens, and when it does its only for a few days. The plug gets pulled around March as well.

also Vanier Park is another place to fly / ride but is limited by space.

see that 2 of my videos were used too. COOL!!!

if anyone wants local informations. they can join us at www.powerkitecanada.com

"videos were removed by user" is all I get when I click on the link. Too bad.

Hello B-roc, Video is back up i believe. Tom the fellow who took the video had to change the music apparently. Had alot of fun that day. I was only able to hit 36 with Tom on the back. Between both of us there was around 370 lbs on the buggy. Although some extra weight is helpful too much does slow you down . Unfortunately he didn't have the camera on during the more eventful parts.
See you guys out there next time.

That black backrest on the buggy- is it homeade or off the shelf? Looks very comfortable and does it work as intended?

doublespeed360 - 16-3-2009 at 05:56 PM

Here's the deal- my wife is a nurse and works every other weekend- I am in retail and must work 1 weekend day. Between the 2 of those I have a small chance of the weather cooperating also! Oh, did I mention my 3 kids?!

When it gets warmer i will make it all work out so we all can meet up and ride! I did fly this past Saturday- in 3 mph winds!!!

Does Jim from Fun With Wind ever get to Nahant? Last I was in his store he had also customized his buggy just like that. I thought you maybe bought his. It is a sweet mod. If I ever buy a buggy I'll have to do that so I can pull my wife or kids without the need for a second bug.

Beachrights - all you have to do is make a family fun day with the kids! Then everyone is happy:thumbup: Mom and dad get to have a day out and enjoy the great weather and some kiting and the kids get to go on buggy rides:wee::wee: Just hook up with one of us before hand and i'm sure everyone will bring their tandem setups. (We promise not to crack 40 with the little ones on board;)).

Broc - Jim usually gets down to Nahant as well,,,, I think he's still in ski mode at the moment. He's an avid skier. Jim used to have a peter lynn that I put a similar backrest on. That's probably what you saw at the store.

I'm hoping for a 20+ easterlies this weekend.
