I haven't tossed this out yet but need to get it out there to see if anyone wants to join in. We will be at Edisto Island in South Carolina from
April 4th thru the 9th. We will be camping at the north end of the island where the beaches are unobstructed. Lets hope for some good onshore winds
and favorable tides. Acampbell is seeking a day pass from his sec. of state. Tridude says he can make it at least 1 day. My cousin and best friend
airhunter will be there the whole week. He is a kiter already and looks forward to nailing down the whole buggy thing that week. Pokitetrash is
loaning me a buggy so we'll have at least 2 running.

Not going to be able to make it. We're working on 4 different movies right now and that week is going to be crazy! How about next weekend? Is
anyone up for Folly?
acampbell - 14-3-2009 at 07:13 AM
I'm at NABX up to April 5th, then with visiting family in town through the next weekend.
BeamerBob - 29-3-2009 at 07:13 PM
5 days out now. Tides improve though the week. I will be doing some body dragging when the beach goes away. Buggy when I can roll. Depower when
they will fly.

the water has been nice spring got me through 3-4 hours yesterday the sun was out the whole afternoon. since your going to be in the water a full2/3
gonna be choice.
Remember FLOAT PLAN, so everything floats to a reasonable landing.
the tidal flow and your bobbin in the water(that is a word right) affects the kite if it's light keep it active, expect stalling.
make the kite be a secure line in the air. make some passes and let it pluck you out of the water once you get the feel .. down wind drag in both
directions. take your time so it not to rough at first. once i got the hang of it i would 1/4 mile out and back, its good practice. practice
idling the kite and control position (a board will give more control)when you ready
fun is on the way!

Next time you guys head out to one of the beaches near Charleston let me know. I have a friend who is wanting to get into the sport. I told him I
have some freinds who would hook him up with some help and maybe let him test out a kite!!
