A few folks on here enjoy them. A whole bunch of folks at NABX will have them. They pair up with the Dirtsurfer real well !

Great for higher winds !

They might work really well here on the prairies expecially on the snow, do you know what kind of wind it will take to get a 190 lb rider going decently and do they come in different sizes. And they should work just as well on water also right??

YES you are right !

They are most popular in the Prarries and Quebec. If he doesn't jump in ( new baby ) you should try and contact Prarriewind. He has some good experience and is a great guy.

Be sure and look in to Dirtsurfers. They are also popular on the Prarrie. Sort of mountian bike / skateboard morph.

KiteWings seem very versatile, cool looking, well-designed and can even give air.
They're also sizable, breakable and cost up to 1.3 grand!

A compromise might be the Santa Monica "Windskates."
They do pretty much the same things as Kitewings, but start at half the cost.

The bottom option would be a Nasawing flown on the bridles.
They are quite "unbreakable," fold down into a coat pocket, and can cost about 1/10th the price of a KiteWing (or less if you can sew).
