Stacking Peter Lynns

macboy - 30-3-2009 at 04:28 PM

Has anyone here ever done it or know someone who has? I'm staring at the Venom 16/19 and dreaming of the Phantom 15/18 (I JUST got word the 18 is on it's way to me!)

I know I'll need a lineset for the stack and am pretty sure I can figure out how to do all that but am wondering how I'd determine the wind range for such hijinx. PLs need that minimum level of wind to even get off the ground and I'd be doubling the weight but also doubling the flying surface. I just don't wanna get killed.

Any thoughts/advice?

Heh Heh, Just packed your Phanny and did the postage/ Customs work. All set for tomorrow after the wife drops me at the airport for NABX.

Phreerider stacked two Venoms at JIBE 2008. Pics here...

It was quite a handful for him and quite a sight for us.

Double thanks to you Angus ; ) Seems like a camera is mandatory if I give it a go.

Phree, what sizes did you stack in those pics?

13/16 venom. 10-12mph

16/19 maybe 8-10 maybe more, the feel will be like the bigger kite.

gentle and slow think ahead. static not so fun, you are gonna be in light air so getting going you need to have speed control down solid.

you need room for this a tight spot =bad idea

always put them at the apex and wait to slow if you feel out of control.

the lift still is about the same . not that much more than the larger kites feel.

super light not so good either, if a single feels mushy and slow think about two mushy slow kites. around 10mph would be fun.

10m ext. works and makes the launch easier. fly the larger kite on ext. first to get use to rate. that's the best way to feel it out.

and if you don't like it drop it. have fun
