OK carl,
how long did it take you to learn to get those nice soft landings? not sure why but i have itch to start/learn jumping:lol:

carltb - 4-4-2009 at 05:32 PM

ITS ALL ABOUT KITE CONTROL!!!!!

AS LONG AS YOU REDIRECT AT THE RIGHT TIME WHEN YOU JUMP, YOU WILL LAND NICE AND SMOOTH. PLUS HAVING A FLOATY KITE HELPS.

macboy - 4-4-2009 at 09:33 PM

We'll get an arc in your hands. I'm worried that the kite did all the work for me so I'm itching to get back out there for verification purposes ; )

Tomorrow I hope.......

You're inspiring me to give the ATB a good effort this summer Carl.

Carl - what were the winds/kite that day?

macboy - 4-4-2009 at 09:37 PM

Sorry - disregard....just saw the credits roll........

Hey, Carl! Your Vids are always an inspiration for me to keep trying! Thanks! B'57

carltb - 5-4-2009 at 03:18 PM

i just try to share the buzz that i get from kiting and if it inspires others then ill keep on making the vids.

i would like to see more vids of other landboarders though. noobs to pro, its all good.

macboy - 5-4-2009 at 08:36 PM

I've tossed a small tripod into the kite bag - I'm gonna follow your lead and start recording as much as I can. I figure it'll help me see what I'm doing to the kite while jumping since I can't see it while it's all happening. I was thinking about your earlier vids with the pylon in them and can't wait to try that too - I bet it's amazing training rather than just jumping willy nilly when things "feel" ready.

dylanj423 - 5-4-2009 at 09:41 PM

we'll see if i can get some vids this season. im just starting to put the depower kites with the atb... what a combo. thinking of selling all my fixed bridles i like it so much

I love 1:52

carltb - 6-4-2009 at 10:10 AM

its a backloop without leaving the ground. or a 360 scud

3.40 is my fave bit. i thought i was gunna take a spanking on that rotation and land backwards but i managed to flip it round

Thank You Carl!
you moved me so that I
took an opportunity
today to break out of work on time
and hit my waterfront soccerfield on some SE wind on
my latest Frenzy ,a ten metre,
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the GI Pro-Digity

the video was superb and
it looks like we ride at a similar level
and then I saw the 360 scud!
I never seen that before!
and had to think about it very hard.
like I didn't belive mein own eyes!

So I had to try it today!
I nailed it right away!
I LOVE scratching grass
and digging long divots
making dirt FLY!

Do you, Carl, push hard at the ground on those 360scuds?
cause that'll be my next assignment

going to watch yer vid again, ciao!

PHREERIDER - 15-4-2009 at 08:34 PM

nice but my fav is the "the list", same sounds i ride to and the slo-mo is how it feels really smoothed out.

checking 'em off ,check, check, check (almost all... 720 is coming...360 invert has to be my fav)

P15 is jacking me on coyotes! it's mad... looks like they're MY RIDE.

higher learning through phantom flight.

carl is schooling us boys and girls ...schooling us proper!

carltb - 16-4-2009 at 03:58 AM

the way i do the 360 scud is, load up for a jump as normal, but instead of popping the bar i just kick out my back foot and fall backward. when ive done a 180 i just pull the bar enough for a little bit of lift and to bring me back round to the start position. ideally, your wheels shouldnt leave the ground at any point but sometimes on the second 180 you might have to pull your knees in abit to get back around.

i got a new camera the other week and heres the first test vid
