Thanks guys. It was loads of fun to let the kite move me around in the water. Having tridude there was confidence inspiring. It was much like I imagined. I had watched a kiteboard video a couple years ago and knew the mechanics of body dragging. The thing is, you get out there and then you start asking yourself about what to do with your feet and hands, and the angle of your body. I was asking tridude multiple questions every time I came back to shore.

I can't imagine getting out on the water with a powered up kite and only a few days time with a kite and no traction experience. My experience allowed me to just translate what I already understood into the water instead of it all being new. I remember how inept I felt my first 2 times in the buggy(I'm sure I looked inept as well). Now I look forward to my next chance on the water to try a board

what most don't realize, as soon as you are in the float position the kite reacts as if aren't there until drag takes over so the initial feeling is very strange. kite luffs
your floating about can be a mess.. keep it hooked up. you are the pendulum swing point in the equation, the kite needs constant feed back (on the main). be thankful PL designs are sensitive enough to react to very little.

keep at it ....float plan everytime.

Float plan has been going through my head for years. It would be first consideration even before what kite to fly. If you can't get home, the kite doesn't matter.

Great Bob! Looking froward to warmer water myself.
