Nice shot. PKF should add a sub-forum "Kite Fighting"nwsurfwakeskate - 5-4-2009 at 02:12 PM
haha wups!
I've done that on a couple occasions. I'm always scared that a line is going to cut the canopy but so far so good :smug:geojones - 5-4-2009 at 02:21 PM
those must be the new "power rokkaku" kites that just came out:wink2:B-Roc - 6-4-2009 at 09:12 AM
A saw a guy get his foil cut almost completely in half in Newport when someone let a single line kite out from behind him on a fast spool. Caught the
foil right as it come through the power zone and the next thing you know, the SLK is floating away as its line was cut and the foil dropped to the
ground with the bottom skin torn completely and the top skin torn mostly all the way through.
Foil flier was P.O.'d. The SLK flier retrieved his unharmed kite from down field and left with his family.BeamerBob - 9-4-2009 at 05:44 AM
It made me nervous too. The wind was light and there wasn't any momentum in the kites though. They were just hovering there while we talked to each
other.PHREERIDER - 9-4-2009 at 06:22 AM
that 19m what a monster!BeamerBob - 9-4-2009 at 06:45 AM
You know, it wasn't the monster I had created in my head for it. I told Tridude that as it was inflating that it really looked intimidating in
comparison to the phantom 15 because of how high it "pillowed" off the ground and how thick it is from leading edge to trailing edge. But in the
winds we were in that day, the torque it provided was needed and welcome and we didn't quite have enough wind to put it into its element. I guess
there is some justification for most any size kite. The 19 venom certainly isn't a circus trick. It is definitely a useful kite to have in the
quiver.mgatc - 9-4-2009 at 06:46 AM

In appearance only. It reminds me of a draft horse. Easy going and gentle, but don't let it step on your foot!:shocked2:BeamerBob - 9-4-2009 at 10:04 AM

Phree, while a useful kite in the right conditions, the 19m Venom isn't something to get caught out in 35 mph winds with. :wow:
