Hi,
I need to get some replacement screws for my GI AK 103, for where the wheel trucks fit onto the board. I understand the screws are the same for the
Prodigy, and probably for other makes of GI boards too.
I've tried all the big hardware stores, and they don't sell exactly the same thing. Is there an online shop I can buy them from? I live in the UK by
the way.

If you are talking about the bolts that attach the trucks to the board, this should do you:

The picture is not current. The current bolts that Kent ships out are stainless with stainless nylock nuts.

You should be able to find stainless hardware from your local hardware store. Even if they are not the current SAE sizes, you should be able to find
some metric sizes that will work for you. Cost on the nuts / bolts shouldn't be more than a couple dollars locally.

I tried my local hardware stores, but although I could get nuts of the correct width, they were far too long (is it possible to have them cut to the
correct length?). Also, the ones that came with the board are designed to be turned by an alum key, whereas the ones in the hardstores tend to be
designed to be turned with a screwdriver - I'd prefer to have the alum key nuts if possible, so I can have an alum key handy just in case.

Did you buy this board from a shop in the UK? Have you tried the shop where you bought the board from?

Well, I bought the board from www.powerkiteshop.co.uk but there was a defect with one of the metal plates that fixes the wheels to the board. The supplier, which is also uk
based sent me two replacement trucks (from a different board, but they still fit), but they didn't include any nuts, and the ones I had used before
were slightly damaged. I phoned www.powerkiteshop.co.uk first to ask if they could send me some, but they said they didn't stock any, and that I should be able to get them from
any hardware store. So I then phoned the supplier who said he'd post me some, but they haven't arrived. I'm going to give it a bit longer before I
phone them again - maybe the post is quite slow over the Easter holiday. However, I'm thinking it would be useful to know where I can get hold of some
for future.

You can cut the bolts AFTER you've threaded the nut past the point you'll cut it but it may make nut removal difficult in the future.
Nuts and bolts are standard sizes. I doubt GI uses a custom bolt. I know I've bought replacement bolts for my GI binding mounts in a local hardware
store. It had a diffrerent head but was the same length as all the others.
Maybe you should measure its length and call around.
Just take the current bolt to a hardware store to find out what thread pattern works on it and then you can call for the right sized bolt with the
thread pattern that matches your nut.
