I think my son and one of his friends are driving down and bringing a canoe and plan on trying to gig some flounder in the bay at night.
Fish Taco's would really go good for dinner.tracktROB - 24-4-2009 at 09:53 AM

I have a line on a couple large bags of oak. They are perfect for smaller fires. Fine restaurant grade wood fuel. Will be rolling to SLP Sat around 10
am. I can hardly wait.Taper123 - 29-4-2009 at 09:29 AM
I don't have any BBQ wood... but still have some logs lying around the yard (...and not just the type the dogs leave).
Tired of rain and hoping for some sun this weekend.dylanj423 - 29-4-2009 at 11:23 AM

Dave has not said anything about cooking. He might be traveling light these days.
Brad and I plan on being there on Friday mid-day and Dave mentioned Friday also. I am sure others will join us late on Friday.
Looking forward to seeing everyone and also sand between my toes.

Was a great time...
Race course was through the paths in the dunes on Saturday and was really fun. Course started with a slight upwind tack into a either a narrow
hardpack channel, or a wider path with dunes and softer sand. If you took the faster path through the hardpack, it led into a 90 degree turn, with a
180 degree turn soon to follow. A Hard packed curve with only a buggy and a half wide channel or else you got muddy/wet that lead into a perfect
powered straight path came next into a 270 turn. This took you back to the starting line... WIth only a few passing areas in the course, Kite and
buggy postioning really made a difference. Smooth surfaces and sand "speed bumps" up to a foot tall made it a fun and challenging course. Winds
seemed in the 15 to 20 range. Some of our NAPKRA courses have been setup for speed (40+mph), but this one was a ton of fun that focused on kite
postioning and buggy handling in tight quarters.
A ton of fun... see everyone next year for Cinco de Mayo.centex_buggier - 3-5-2009 at 05:14 PM
It was a great course. I had a lot of fun. It was very difficult to pass anywhere on the course, but it was challenging.
We had a good turn out with several faces that I hadn't seen in a while.
It was a great weekend... Thanks everyone!
Steve.kitemaker4 - 3-5-2009 at 06:01 PM
Glad yall had a good time. I know I did.
See ya on the beach.

Ecxellent Weekend of Racing
bbrex - 3-5-2009 at 06:20 PM
I just wanted to personally thank everyone for coming out and participating in the 8 races this weekend. I don't think we could have asked for much
better weather on Saturday and the very fun and technical course that was set up it challenged everyone. I also want to thank everyone who helped out
putting on the races, photographing and videoing the action, supplying the food and cooking too. It seems each time we get together for the races we
have more fun than the last time, and more new pilots participate and others get much better at racing and honing their skills. It is a pleasure to
help organize and get these races for Club 13 going. Everyone that participated had a great time and a number of them really surprised themselves with
their skill level. I look forward to the next event.

I had a great time at SLP on Fri / Sat with the hospitality from everyone even the newcomers!! Darn missed the tryout race challenge on Saturday as
were picking my family up from Houston to bring them down to the beach for first tandem ride. See you all next time!Taper123 - 4-5-2009 at 10:14 AM
Got up early saturday morning and lit the grill...
Watched the sun come up while making a run to the water tower.
Late morning the races started treblehook - 5-5-2009 at 07:24 AM
Had a great time Friday and Saturday at the pass.
Fridays winds were in the 15 to 20 mph range, SE ,tide going out all day.
Which made for long, fast, smooth runs . Logged 52 miles in the bug,
with top speed at 33.5 mph.No wonder I am so sun burn. Flew the 4 meter jo jo rm and the pkd 3 meter Brooza . The Brooza is turning out to be a
favorite with me in the said above wind range. Kite locks in and its all forward speed. Saturday got to the beach just in time for the pilots meeting
for the races. Winds were SE ,18 mph range. Two thumbs up to the guys who laid out the race course. Long speed straight away ,hairpin turn ,"S" curve,
and whoop-dee-doos. I was not born with kite buggy racing skills, so every time we get to race , is a learning experience.
The race agenda was 4 heats (5 laps per heat) "A" class and "B" class. "B" class being the newbs. Did well in the the first 2 heats.
But in the 3rd race we had a pile up in turn 4 ,which side lined me for the rest of the day with an ankle injury. "bummer" having to sit in my beach
chair , ankle propped up with ice on it, watching all the fun. in spite of the ankle ,still managed to cook up some grub
for a little feast. I'll have to ditto what Dylan wrote in his posting.
what a great bunch folks, get to meet a few more people every time we make the trip.Life is good...
anyhoo --Ankle got an x-ray on Monday and no break just bad sprain. So will be back in the saddle soon. till next time.....Herb
