Hey Sailors,
Darn if that doesn't look like my old stomping grounds...
The beach just south of the Monterey Beach Hotel.
Looks like a nice low tide.
Very little recent rain in the area, judging by the trickle of run-off crossing the beach on the right.
Camera position is atop the dune where we traditionally set up since 1985 when I started flying kites on that beach every weekend.
What wonderful memories.
Am I right?
Safen Up! Buggy On!

I thought this was going to be about a yo-yo trick.arkay - 22-4-2009 at 07:38 PM
Actually it's a local Manzanita kiter walking _his_ dog. Everything else is right except the location Flying kites here since... well 2005.
The location is the northern end of Neahkahnie beach (Manzanita Oregon) at about a 2 ft tide (Low low tide is about -1ft). No rain for a while, but
lots of rain in the winter so the run-off is seeping out from the mountain.
Its alright till the dog gets under a wheel when turning and then the kiter gets the blame even though the dog owner was not keeping the dog under
control. This could lead to kiting bans through no fault of the flyers.burritobandit - 23-4-2009 at 12:11 PM
I was kite landboarding like 2 days ago and this awesome white and grey husky was chasing me up and down the park. He got tired after a while and
would wait for me to go back to where his owner was (playing rugby on one half of the park) then chase me for that leg of my tack, heh.
I was kinda nervous when he first came up since he was so big, and I didn't want to get bit (USA_Eli_A's horror story immediately came to mind). But
he turned out to be just really friendly & playful even after he got too close and I knicked his heel a little with my tire :/ I was worried he
might be hurt but he was runnin around after that just fine.
It'd be so much easier if the dog owners would just leash their dogs if they see their dogs chasing after us :/ragden - 23-4-2009 at 12:13 PM
