Flexifoil Punk color scheme

burritobandit - 22-4-2009 at 10:21 PM

Anyone know where to find a Flexifoil Buzz/Sting/Rage/Sabre2 in the Punk color scheme?

heliboy50 - 23-4-2009 at 12:49 AM

Good luck. I have a buddy that has been trying to find anything in punk for months, and has found only 2 for sale. Both were in England and neither were willing to ship to the states. They are so rare that a flexi dealer I talked to had never even heard of them, and he has been in the sport for years. I don't blame you for wanting one- that is one of the coolest color schemes I have ever seen.

Taper123 - 23-4-2009 at 09:06 AM

I've got a Rage 4.7 in PunS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-d... but it's not for sale.

But if your at SLP next weekend for Cinco de Mayo I'll let ya fly it :bigok:

indigo_wolf - 23-4-2009 at 09:23 AM

I got interested about a year late.

When I went looking none of the stateside dealers had any. It was how I first ended up calling Angus. FF only had a few baby Stings (1.2 quads) and Stackers (6 & 8) left in PUNK.

I ended up getting a 2.4 in Petrol, but snagged the 1.2 just for the color. Wish they would have a reissue of PUNK and Midnight....sigh.

Punk is the mostly pink one with some white and black right?

indigo_wolf - 23-4-2009 at 09:44 AM

Yuppers... would love a Sting 3.3 or Rage 4.7 in that color

Note to self: Must find blackmail photos of Matt at Flexifoil :ninja:

Funny, the reason that I just sold off my 4m Access is because I found one with a custom (or at least special) grey/PINK/black color scheme that I wanted to buy. Its the only one I've ever seen in this color scheme.

arkay - 23-4-2009 at 10:04 AM

So are you talking about punk or acid? My 2.5 and 3.5 rages are acid... or that's at least what I know it by... is this the same color scheme as punk?

heliboy50 - 23-4-2009 at 10:13 AM

No, yours is Acid arkay. Punk is mostly eyeball-searing pink, black, and white. I think acid is 2nd coolest color scheme ever, though.

Taper123 - 23-4-2009 at 10:34 AM

That's how I got my PunS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-d Rage... had to order it through a FF dealer.

That color scheme was a limited production, with Pink as the main color. A portion of the proceeds from each kite was donated to the UK Cancer Research.

Cool kites for a cool cause....

Punk colours

WindyWoos - 29-4-2009 at 04:16 PM

Hope you liked that video, unfortunately we ran out of time when shooting, the last kite on the schedule was a 12m Sabre in Punk colours which is pretty rare so I am told...

Its on my list to video next, so when its done I'll post...

burritobandit - 29-4-2009 at 04:22 PM

Sweet! Thanks!

not sure how much you are willing to pay since it's across the pond but there's one 1.7m sting in punk

indigo_wolf - 27-5-2009 at 12:43 PM

Might just be easier to fill Flexifoil's Inbox with requests :ninja:

Some of the current color schemes I would have no qualms about losing, in favor of Punk, Midnight, Black & Gold.

Seem to recalls UK shipping for a 3.5 being fairly princely (and it was a pretty compressed)... not sure much is going to be saved on the 1.7 shipping.

heliboy50 - 27-5-2009 at 11:46 PM

Yeah the 2 my buddy found were both in the UK and neither seller was willing to ship over here. The shipping for my cent was like $50-60 and it got here fast. Anything cheaper comes via ocean freight and takes like a month. I support the e-mail barrage idea. Out of all the big kite co.'s, flexi seems to be one of the more responsive.

acampbell - 28-5-2009 at 06:47 AM

So I just rang up Flexi to see what they had kicking around in Punk. They think they have some Stackers and small size Stings. After they are done with shipments for the day, they are going to rummage around the warehouse and let me know. give it a few hours...

indigo_wolf - 28-5-2009 at 09:06 AM

When I hit them up last year, that was pretty much all they had then too.

The Stackers, I believe will be 6s... maybe 8s.

The smaller Stings will be 1.2s, not 1.7s or 2.4s unless they have been conducting illicit experiments.

Still wouldn't mind one, if the shipping was reasonable.

Given the original response they got to the Punks and the fact that the second run pretty much flew off the shelves... I am kind of befuddled by their reticence to push the "Punk" button again.

Ohhh.... maybe they'll slip and nudge the "Midnight" button by accident..... dare to dream. :singing:

Samba, Rasta, and Acid are less than inspired (IMHO). The Black/Gold and Flo-Green/Gray Bullets were gorgeous as were the Purple/Gray Blades.

Thanks for checking in with them, Angus.

Sam

They said that the pink fabric was gone and that making more would be prohibitive. It would be pushing a very big button.

acampbell - 3-6-2009 at 08:17 AM

From Flexifoil....

I can confirm that we do have limited stock in Punk for the following:

Wait.. is that kite yours?

lad - 4-6-2009 at 06:03 AM

Nah...just happened across it - dunno if he'll ship across the pond.

burritobandit - 4-6-2009 at 02:30 PM

The owner PMed me back and let me know she wouldn't ship it over here :sniff:

lad - 4-6-2009 at 02:53 PM

I'd put a "wanted" post on all the UK and AUS boards if I really wanted one.

jaymzmn - 11-6-2009 at 02:41 PM
