I'm curious about what methods people find best for staking their big kites in the following:
Snow (powder or frozen corn)
Sand (packed or loose)
Ice
I have the golf ball stakes and screw in dog stakes for soil. I don't have experience with ice screws, snow flukes, or any other methods that seem
applicable to other conditions.

For sand i use the cheapo stakes that are basically like big tent pegs. You can also use the screw ones on packed sand.

When I'm on the snow, I'm kiteskiing. So when I stop, I land the kite, kick off my skis and point them away from the kite (upwind), then I hook the
brake lines around one of the ski's binding. The little anchors on the bindings that keep your skis from sliding backward when the binding is released
holds the skis and the kite in place.
A dog screw would work as well though I prefer not to kiteski with sharp objects.
Note: Kites tend to move around while parked on snow or ice. It's best to toss a couple small sand bags on the trailing edge if you plan to be parked
for any length of time. Clumps of snow will work in a pinch.
