I have the 4 meter version and it really is a nice kite, predictable, well made, good quality and pulls like a truck!
And no... i don't work for ozone :Ange09:elfasa - 18-5-2009 at 02:36 PM
haha, okay, thanks for the reccomendation furbowski - 18-5-2009 at 06:17 PM
you'll get what you pay for, bit of a problem when you're in a hurry and on a budget, otherwise surfing the various for sale boards and ebay for a
couple of months will get you a fantastic trainer kite on a good budget.
The flexi sting is a good trainer kite, but may not hold your interest as long as something with a bit more of a refined design, the flow is a good
choice for the long term, the beamer as well though a bit less sporty than the flow. I'd give radsails a miss, tho I hear they've gotten better in
recent years.
the cult's ok for you, flow much better. imp quattro is a bit like the sting, a nice trainer but not a very refined design.
the pepper is still worth waiting for another one if you have the patience.
good luck on your kitequest....tridude - 18-5-2009 at 06:42 PM
you can probably find a PL Pepper cheap nowadays. the Pepper II was better than the PI, and thats reasonable priced as well.
if you want a good beginner kite i'd go Peter Lynn Hornet or HQ Beamer
the Hornet comes with everything ready to go. I believe Dino @ Dakitez has a used one.
i have new ones in Red / Black in 3.0m ... it would be your learner to becoming your high wind kite when you start riding something.elfasa - 18-5-2009 at 11:57 PM
okay, from reading through your comments, and dooing loads of reasearch on the net i have come up with my final list:
ozone flow 3m
peter lynn hornet 3m
i can grab them both for 150 pounds (uk) new, from reputable sellers.
do you all think that either one of these kites would be good ?
and do you think that one of them is particularly better than the other ?
thanks a lot for your advice guys, its been invaluable !

both are good, in the same factor. bascially it will come down to your colour choice now.acampbell - 19-5-2009 at 07:10 AM
Ditto the Hornet; it replaced the Pepper series and is a bit more refined.
The Beamer series keeps getting better and the Beamer IV is great; very refined performance and very rugged.mougl - 19-5-2009 at 08:01 AM
I'd say the PL Hornet 3m. Great kite! I'm actually starting my nieces on a hornet elfasa - 19-5-2009 at 01:16 PM
okay, thanks for the advice guys..
im still a bit undecided though..
im leaning a bit to the hornet, but im guessing theres not much in it.DonaldLL - 19-5-2009 at 02:27 PM

I can't say much about the beamer considering the only kites I've flown have been PL kites. What I can say about PL is: I am a beginner myself and so
far what I've found with PL kites are that they are very "newbie friendly". Great power, easy handling, well put together, and of course very
forgiving. As a newcommer to power kiting I make a LOT of mistakes while flying and the PL always seems to know what I meant to do as opposed to what
I "told the kite to do". I've crashed a few times and the kite always seems to survive. I went with a twisterII 5.6, but hindsight 20/20, I'm more
than likely going to purchase a hornet 3 or 4 as well. I hope this helped DonaldLL - 19-5-2009 at 10:45 PM
yeah, I know elfasa... i was really just joking and laughing at myself cause that's how I 'solved' my first dilemma of which kite to buy. It's fun
when you buy them but I just got my AMEX statement.... whoa. That'll take the wind out of your sails :o
BTW, in the kite reviews I have posted a video of a 2.4m Sting II. I know this isn't on your short list but it'll give you some idea of the pull on a
2.4m kite.... if you don't know already.elfasa - 20-5-2009 at 12:54 AM
