Power Kite Forum

Please allow myself to introduce... myself.

Hello Power Kite Forum members!
I wanted to introduce myself as a new member who is also new to the sport of power kiting.

I have been interested in Kiteboarding for several years now, but I finally decided that Landboarding would be easier and more economical for me to start out on. Especially since Austin, TX isn't that close to the coast.

I bought a used MBS Comp16 for $85 a week ago and have been riding it almost every day on the streets in my neighborhood.

I have a very small trainer kite that I've had practice on, and I just bought a used Beamer 3 3m from _____ the other day.

If you're in the Austin area and wouldn't mind babysitting a total n00b, I would be happy to join you for some power kiting or boarding :)

In the meantime, I'll be practicing flying my Beamer and watching Progression: Beginner Kite Landboarding over and over again!

Ah, but then I would be sacrificing that most valuable of all resources: Time!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! :)

a dimension not to be squandered (if you believe that kinda thing)

the realization of this illusion separates all from those who live in the now whether it be work play work play work play play work work play work play play play work work play as long as it is now.

take time to play and work will be your rest.

time is what it's gonna take to fly all those kites you 're gonna buy.

welcome

I buggy at Old Settler's park in Round Rock and at North East Metro Park in Pflugerville (very overgrown right now). If you want to join us, U2U me your email address and I'll let you know the next time we head out.

Sup! A few of us kiteboard at Lake Pflugervile whenever there's enough wind. I think you're already on our local forum. Just keep an eye on that forum for the next time we're going to fly there or at another lake or at the coast.

I've recently taken more of a liking to fly at OSP vs flying at Zilker. I used to kitelandboard at Zilker a lot, but the construction at the main park means more people at that backup spot, and all the cones and cables restrict the amt of area to use and force weird tacks. Plus there's been more and more people showing up to play soccer, ultimate, rugby, or whatever.

Dylan, the main park now has NICE grass over the majority of the space, but they've still got the park closed and are watering the heck out of it. I dunno when they plan to open.
