So the other day i was out in my front yard folding up my 15 phantom and i finally met my neighbor. I just moved into my new house a few months ago
when it was colder, so i havn't had a chance to really be outside in the yard much. As i was packing my kite my neighbor asked what it was. Of course
they got the typical powerkiter response "Its my flying machine" After a few minutes of Q and A I came to find out that my next door neighbor is a
hot air balloon pilot. How sick is that! So now this summer when there is no wind to fly in, i will be joining my neighbor as their newest crew
member when they fly balloons. And i owe it all to peter lynn and their awesome kite designs. You never know whos eye they are going to catch Im excited that when theres not enough wind to fly in, i'll still be able to fly!

Those balloons are majestic... I'd love to fly in one or be part of a team.

That's awesome. I am sure you have offered to return the offer and let him fly your PL when the winds are up?

You know it. It feels good to talk to people who think and talk the same way about being in the sky

An added thought regarding like minded individuals, I pass a privately owned airfield every day on the way to work, and have even met the owner (who
owns an aerial spraying co.)several years ago, long before I acquired this "addiction". The other day I was returning home from the Fairgrounds where
I had been flying/buggying, and saw him working outside the hangar, and decided to stop and reintroduce myself. It turned into a very productive
conversation, as I was offered to use his airfield anytime I cared to, and if he had time some day when I was there would love to learn to 'fly a kite
n buggy' too! He has also, in the past sponsored R/C fly ins, etc. So if you are looking for a place to fly, don't rule out a private airfield owner
to make friends with!:tumble:

Balloons are so cool. When I was a kid I worked summers at the airport/ gliderport at Sugarbush, Vermont where there was also a guy running a hot air
balloon operation. I would ground crew for him sometimes. We'd follow his drift, shoot ahead in his '49 GM flatbed truck, stop and crack a beer in
the back while we watched him drift by, then rumble down another dirt road, repeating the process until he landed in some pasture.
The cool part was flying in the balloon, where you could smoke a phunny cigarette and the smoke would stay in front of your face as you sailed over
the treetops because you were part of the breeze and moving with it.
