was almost my downfall today. Have had no wind this past couple of weeks and havent been able to play with the sabre yet, so when i see the trees
moving today i was straight on the phone to my friend.
The wind was ok but the gusts were pretty high... but we just had to see this thing in action.
I volunteered to go first, stuck on my pads and full face helmet... y'know, just in case.
I took the kite to zenith, not too much issue, then a gust comes along, lifts me about 3 foot and at this point i thought, for some reason, that
sheeting in the bar would be a good idea...
next thing i know i am flying along at serious speed about a foot off the ground for about 40 yards, crash, roll over and end up being dragged accross
a green silly quick on my back by a very angry kite.
Thank god for quick release is all i will say... another kitelandboarder down there had a nice chuckle at me, as did my friend who was in stitches.
Turns out the gusts were up to 35-40 mph... whoops....
needless to say the kite got packed down very quickly and will not be seeing light until there is more stable wind.

It can be exciting...but...be careful! Glad you got your helmet and pads on. You gotta respect the power of these kites or they'll get ya.
