Goodbye the life of the Single man!

Drewculous - 1-6-2009 at 03:37 PM

So i wrote my first check on a wedding ring today... not trying to brag but its sweet, horay for flawless diamonds! Well as you all know, im sure, rings are expensive!! Any tips on some extra cash for a buggy / more kite stuff. This thing is killing my hobby stash money!

Ive taken up mowing all the lawns in my family, told them to tell a friend... My videogame budget is set to 0, drum budget 0, garden budget as low as humanly possible. (cant give up hot peppers no matter how hard i try) Switched from good coffee to crappy coffee:no:, and im making a point to stop spending any 'petty cash' type money i come into, and just dumping it into a jar.

My only real goal is to nab a buggy for the summer, and im so close, just want a little more wiggle room before i commit... Just sux, bills, hobbies im good, but throw in this little gem and i'm spent...

more or less im venting frustration / excitement (same time is really weird) and hey if a nugget of knowledge comes out, ill have a buggy that much sooner!

talk to ya later, thanks!

Congrats on the engagement but ... screw the diamond, buy more kites  weddings are such a giant waste of money - all the cash, for just one day!!! Put your foot down, or she'll be walking all over you for the rest of whatever

Oh and I refuse to drink crap coffee or instant of any kind - I may be homeless, living in a cardboard box but I will steal your wallet to get a decent cup

and more kites too.

CONGRADS.

PS. i asked for kites on my son's baby registery, and got NIL. but it was worth the try. :spin:

I've probably said it before, but my advice to married men is to take up smoking ... wait for the wife to complain about the cost - then quit. Now, you can milk the "I've got so much more money since I quit smoking" for bloody years after

I think I over heard Rip say that he was going to start up a registry on his site for kiters to sign up for wedding/baby shower/birthday gifts!

uh huh.... I know what you mean. I purchased the little gem myself last year. Just tell us this.... is she "kite friendly"? Get her hooked on the same addiction and you'll be broke AND happy!!
Congratulations

Kamikuza has a good point on the smoking thing, I recently gave up the nasty, disgusting, filthy habit(I wish I had one right now!!!) and have been saving every $ I would spend on them, and spending it on this other addiction... My quiver and toy list will grow, and other than the possibility of injury, this addiction is way more healthy! BTW Drew, congrats! Bob

lol great!!

Shes not to kite friendly, she worries im going to hurt myself, shes not against it, just doesnt want any part of it. I like the kite registry tho.....

Idk, we've talked and we agree that we need to net money on the wedding, just make more then we spend, and it shouldnt be too hard. Neither of us want a big wedding, but we want a big party afterwards, im stoked, but i just have to doll out the cash right now for a ring.

It sucks because Arkay has a nice buggy at a good price, but id just be cutting it to close right now if i bought it, i just hope its still up for grabs in a month... cuz it will be mine!!

I prefer the term "kite agnostic". On the plus side, at least you know the she's not looking to collect the insurance on you. I lost track of it, but there's a great video of ripsessionkites and crew at Gary Point that would be a great view for her. Perhaps someone else will chime in with a link.
