hello there
a couple of days i tried a kite of some sort for the first time and i really enjoyed it. only did it for a few minutes but i was knackered. i would
like some advice please on buying a kite to use for fun and use to help keep fit.
a friend had one because he was told that this could give the equivalent of a hour in the gym for doing ab 20 mins kiting. more enjoyable too.
could the users here please advise me on what i should be looking for to do this as a bit of fun.
i have seen this what are your thoughts

beginners usually start with something around 3 meters,however---i dont know of this brand on your post--i would stay away from it myself --the low
price most likely means it is cheaply made and not a good flying kite--you would be much better off going to the for sale section and looking for
something there--ive bought many used kites here,and i can say every person ive dealt with has been honest and trustworthy---why dont you tell us a
bit about yourself so we can help you select your first kite.......your age--weight--conditioning--i recommend a 4 line kite --hq beamer is a good
one--there are others that are nice as well--one more thing-power kiting is addicting--i hope you have alot of time and money on your hands.....youre
going to need them haha-- if youre in the uk,the flexifoil forum is another good place to hang out and ask questions--they have used kites
there as well and you wouldnt have to pay the exhorbitant shipping costs

cant go wrong with a beamer... the quintsential "best beginner kite"

Hmmm...the ebay.uk auction item says:
"See a few of the pics below, we were getting upwards of a couple of meters in the air and covering up to 10m across the ground in one jump. "
The pics look a little familiar - tho' the kite is not visible in any.
Moreover, they are all using 4-line kites with handles - NOT the 2 line kite with grips in the auction. :puzzled:

reminds me of the crummy buggy they were selling on ebay,and the pics showed a libre or something much nicer

I agree with Drewculous.... you just can't go wrong with a Beamer.
Where are you located... inland or beach?
What are the normal winds in your area?
What is your weight?
What's your budget?

Brookite Velocity surely would have been mentioned on PKF if it was a worthwhile investment
I'd suggest HQ, Flexifoil, Ozone or other known brands

i am 22 years old, weight about 115 kilograms, would be classed as unfit but want to do this to get fitter. i also race petrol race karts aswell so
that will keep me fit. i would not be looking to do this competitively, just for fun and to keep fit
i live in plymouth in the UK which is on the coast and i can drive to a beach or the are moors around 15 minutes drive away.
budget - i would like to buy the kite for less than 100 pound but ideally less than 70. my budget usually gets spent on the kart (they really do race
away with my money). what safety equipment should i be looking to purchase in addition.

Look into an Elliot Magma. They are great allarounder kites that really fly good and stabil. You can get them new for what you want to spend, but they
are often for sale used in E-%&§. Have a look they are well worth it.

i have just bought a eolo radsail 3m and im very pleased with it.
i would deffinately reccomend them to any begginer.

Around 100 Pounds could get you an HQ Rush 3 Kite. Very durable and great trainer kite. Also has a safety leash
