You beat me to it. Antarctica has wind almost all the time. Its a tad cold most of the time though. Wonder if ripstop will shatter at 70 below?
I have a new Synergy in the quiver and nothing for days unless it comes with a thunderstorm.f0rgiv3n - 3-6-2009 at 07:19 PM
You know what they say... when the wind is away your quiver starts to magically grow in numbers.lad - 3-6-2009 at 07:52 PM
It's been only frustrating doldrums here too.
But I just got in my spanking new Access I 6m this afternoon. I figured I'd only be opening it to keep re-reading the printed material for a few days.
As luck would have it, a thunderstorm was slowing moving in, so I finally got some decent, consistent winds for a maiden voyage. ...BLISS... (short
lived as it be). I never thought I'd look forward so much to rain!mougl - 4-6-2009 at 07:13 AM
Its been the same here for the past week...3-5 if any wind at all. Drewculous - 4-6-2009 at 08:02 AM

Hey talking about bummed, I couldn't help but to show you this. My honey likes to fly the beamer when the wind is safe, so I let her have a go at it.

I dunno how many times I've been caught out standing in the field, waiting for the wind! Patience!BeamerBob - 9-6-2009 at 11:13 AM
It's a bad sign when gnats are buzzing around you while you are setting up. They don't like wind.Hardrock - 9-6-2009 at 01:48 PM
That was a hot no wind day. The weather station there was reporting some wind but we didn't see it after driving down there.
I wonder what people think as they drive by and see a person sitting in the middle of a hot field. LOL
Have to give her credit, she was down there for awhile before I took her a chair and then stayed a bit longer just sitting there, ahahahah. It's
funny because you know all the things they are saying to themselves.
I did get it to fly later, could barly feel a breeze, I'll try and upload that.shehatesmyhobbies - 9-6-2009 at 02:27 PM
Great video! The wind conditions here on the East sideare the same. And as always. You head out to your spot when there is supposed to be good wind,
there is, and you set up, and then it goes away. There is a small cold front in our near future!:smug:Hardrock - 10-6-2009 at 06:11 PM
OK, now I know why I don’t upload many videos, takes so freaking long….
Anyway, I’m no movie maker but here is the kite in what I think was 3mph then dropped
to -2mph LOL, so it seemed with all the added help to keep it flying.
Beware, kind of boring,, but at least you can listen to the all time number 1 song. ;-);-)
actually--i didnt find your vid to be boring at all--i watched the whole thing in mesmerized silence....your song goes PERFECTLY with the vid and made
me feel very peaceful......:singing:Kamikuza - 10-6-2009 at 06:42 PM

Very nice...a power kite vid w/o a Rap or Thrash soundtrack!
You have a nicer touch on your 5m Beamer than I ever managed on mine (mine's more like a Tug O' War).
No wind? Always bring along some R/C planes, Aerobies or Boomerangs. As soon as you pack the kites and get these out...the wind always flares up!arkay - 11-6-2009 at 09:56 PM
Winds at the oregon coast are reasonable, but light to moderate... which I prefer so I can use a bigger kite. I'll take a bigger kite in lighter
winds any day. But it's been dead by pdx (george excluded).
But I'm bummed cause I just lost an auction for a kite I've been eyeing But with
this winds calm I won't need a kite so small anyway I'm always weary of buying
kite son ebay, have had great luck twice to far. If anyone has an 8.5m Ion I'm in the market!Kamikuza - 11-6-2009 at 11:31 PM
I bought two kites off eBay so far, but both were leads from here and another forum. Both should be due next week :online:
