Can you suggest a kite?

Hi guys been checking out the forum the last two days and been finding alot of info and learning alot. There are so many choices of kites I kinda need help so Im not gonna need to buy another kite in a few months, Im sure I will want to though because its soo addicting but you guys already know that huh? Anyhow a few weeks ago while vacationing on the outer banks I bought a HQ Rush 200 and what a blast! Started looking on the internet and wham! Landboarding! I have got to do this! Im a really good snowboarder been doing it for along time, Im 155lbs 5'10'' so Im not a big guy. I ordered and picked up a MBS core 90 which I found recomended in numerous places including here as a good board to start on and have for awhile. I live in central PA so the average wind is probally below 10mph but ever so often we get some good steady windy days. Ive already scoped out some really good places to practice flying and when Im ready landboarding. I was riding the board lastnight and Im picking it up fast, my property is on a really nice hill for mountain boarding and I have about 4 acres of woods with a small yard. I would like to stick to the HQ brand of kites they seem like there very popular. Can you guys suggest some kites and I would prefer to buy used. Thanks

Do you want to snow kite as well ? You can do it with a stock snowwboard or skis.

If you do , the depower kites will better serve you . HQ make some good ones.

Im sure I will try that too

Depower kites are the kite of choice on the snow.
I suggest you look at a depower
With the normal wind around there you want a large kite. Depower kites are larger than fixed bridle in the same wind. You wouldn't want smaller than a 10m. A bit smaller fixed bridle would do the job but wouldn't give you a lot of range if the wind picks up .

Wind under 10mph is tricky with depower kites in general.

If you are looking for a used HQ stevep has some Beamer IIIs for sale on the forum

I am 200lb & 5'-10" and found handles easier to learn with while landboarding - somehow being hooked in with a bar in gusty inland winds created too many opportunities for face plants. I started with a 5.5m fixed bridle but wished I had a 4m.

That 8m Outlaw would probably be a good choice but ...... You have a problem with the 10mph and less winds. A bigger kite will suit the winds but you will need to take a big leap up in size. Not many depower kites perform well under 10mph. The Flysurfer Silver Arrow is the King in that game.
