Oh Snap!! Tornado!! AGAIN!!

Drewculous - 5-6-2009 at 03:46 PM

Was out doing my usual lunch time kiting... some clouds off in the distance... no lightning, no gusts, really nice even strong wind... great conditions.

Busting out 5' jumps without even trying... really cool spins in the 8' neighborhood... just dream conditions, well my buddy called informed me of a tornado watch that just went out!!

Packed up went back to work, and there was a freakin tornado about 100 miles away, its all over the news (the weather channel is all over it)

I was in no danger at all, but it still kinda freaked me out... kiting in a tornado watch... its been about an hour and a half since, and the storm is just starting to roll in to town. Wish me luck surviving the storm (inside with the kite packed away lol)

Wow - good luck! With inland summer doldrums, a storm is what it takes sometimes! I read how surfer dudes on the TX coast would get excited over the waves from coming hurricane activity!

Wow, you can see the bow in the radar. Hold on tight!

Drewculous - 10-6-2009 at 01:39 PM

OMG we have like 4 seperate tornado warnings and a flash flood warning!! No kiting for me today, haha!

Glad i have wireless internet so i can stare at the radar in the basement, lol

its nuts, this weather is crazy, every cloud is going a different direction, man.... we usually get 2-3 inches of rain the whole summer, and i think we got more than that in the last hour!!

There are reports of 3" worth of hail out in the country, they are deploying the snow plows!

had another tornado last nite... was out trying some really mellow winds when the sirens went off... i tell you, it is hard winding lines with torado sirens going off. The good thing about this area tho, if the sirens go off, you usually have about an ahour, maybe hour and a half before the weather turns... woo hoo...

This week is supposed to have great weather tho, mid 80s and no rain... ahh
