recently got a pulse2 12m used, the guy said he used only 6 times on snow and water. had a quick look over, seemed okay, brought it home.
now that i take a closer look at it, i find that the flying lines are connected to the bridle system via little metal connectors from flysurfer. is
this how flysurfers come from the factory? my first thought is no, since my ozone frenzy uses knots/loops to make these connections.
i've also come across several pieces of neon pink line abandoned at various connection points. like he didn't bother to take out the loose ends before
replacing the lines.
this is my first flysurfer. does the pulse2 have neon pink lines anywhere straight from the factory?
he made no mention to repairs being made, but seeing these things makes me raise an eyebrow.
if it's truly only been flown 6 times, i have a hard time believing that any lines would've needed replacing. and if they did need replacing, just how
hard was he flying it...

Is it possible you are looking at the Pound Rated break away connectors?
They are between your bridle and kite tab. The idea is they break before your canopy is damaged .

Can you take some pics? Mine doesn't have any pink line on it but that's not to say that others don't. The metal connectors are a Flysurfer
thing...supposed to be there.

ill get some pictures in the morning. i read a review talking about the connectors, so good to confirm that those are as they should be.

did you read the manual? read the manual bedfore you fly the kite. You can find it on their website. The ELC (easy line connectors) are the little
discs, yes they are normal. The neon pink lines.... mine are neon yellow. We will need pictures.
If you dont get anything else from this.... get the manual.

Look at the manual. I suspect you'll find it hasn't been modified. Find some good wind and you'll be loving that kite.
(Check out the 12m in my avatar)

those pink lines suppose to be there!

Here are pictures of the pink line in question. Notice that it is not symmetrical on the ELC's, only occuring on 1 of the 4 ELC's. They don't seem to
provide any connection or strength and can easily be taken off. No apparent benefit, and if anything would probably cause a stress point.
Just sort of curious why they are there, whether factory-placed or aftermarket
I had a read through the manual and didn't find anything that explained them
dylanj423 - 7-6-2009 at 01:13 PM
those are kinda weird... are they just in those places? with ends that go nowhere? there is nothing like that on any of my kites.... some neon yellow
line that are the depower lines.... the red line that is your left brake line (goes to the trailing edge, and outside of the bar)
dont do anything with them, send the pictures to flysurfer and wait for the experts to answer. they are suspicious... but i wouldnt feel comfortable
telling you to do anything like remove them or even they are fine.
sorry i couldnt help. please let us know how this becomes resolved

yes the pictures show the only 4 occurences. I am not aware of the use of pink line for any line/bridle on the pulse so they were intentionally
placed (as far as i can tell)
I've emailed Flysurfer as well as the guy I bought it from.

You know...I think I remember those things being on my 12m also when I first got it. You need to remove them so they don't get hung up on anything.

I've decided to take them off. Still curious to hear what the seller and FS say about them.
Now I just have to wait for some decent wind to take a test ride. The last 2 weeks have either been hurricane windy, incredibly gusty or completely
calm

Here is what FS had to say:
Hi Eric, feel free to remove them. The pink one at the Easy Line Connector is not supposed to be there but you can leave it there. Basically it was
meant for an easy opening of the line connection.
The other one which is located at the FLS - to - Flying Line is a problem. Please remove this one to be sure that the safety works!
On some kites our production put the pink LCL at this line connection. As this setup causes the safety to get stuck in some cases we strongly advise
to remove it.
Here is the instruction we sent to our customers:
