Why is it that i cannot find one video of speeds runs with a landboard.

camera man is left behind.
its like cars on the hwy not that much going on
in buggy or on a ATV. could keep up.
most videos are passes with jumps or transitions.

40 mph seems fast on a landboard. I think that the fastest that I've gone is only 23 mph and that felt fast to me. You must have to get the trucks
torqued down really tight because one speed wobble (or rock or shell) and you're gonna eat it bad. Does anyone know what the landboard speed record

i have to say i have been around 40mph and generally just fall back against the kite and slide off the speed ..it really smokes the tires. and
wobbles, always power through them re-balance to the rear.
i think some guys on here have hit 52mph .
fast is cool but excessive high speeds is asking for it.

I know that after 30 mph in a buggy, it feels like you are about to break the sound barrier. I can't imagine hitting 40 mph on a landboard. I'm sure

I would think the speed wobbles would just make it quite unpleasant, if not near impossible.
The Dirt Surfer supposedly doesn't have the wobbles - but I'm too lazy to search what the top speed on one of those was!
I guess ice speeding wouldn't present wobbles - maybe some other problems. Oddly, I read in the Greenbird stories how wind w/wheels is still, so far,
faster than wind/ice attempts.

Spendy but nice gear. :shocked2: Kind of surprised in wasn't the Quadrolution for stability.
No (elbow) pads, no gloves.... hopefully a helmet.

I bet you a newer Ground Industries deck would be capable of some of these high speeds.... I seem to recall something out USA Eli (here on PKF)
hitting aroumph on a Flight Lite Deck.

I thought that the wobble was more from the trucks than the board, but maybe not. If the board contributes to the wobble then I would think that a

i have rsrearched wobble a little.... turns out there are highly advanced mathematical equations that relate the frequncy of vibration to a certain
build/ stiffness... when the vibration frequency of the spinning of the wheels hits a certain factor (cant remember what), thats when wobble sets in.
google it, there is a lot of info on wikipedia... none of which really means anything to me.... i just know that my first board wobbled a lot, and my
new on doesnt. my new one has a stiffer deck, and different trucks. i would bet that both influence speed wobblelad - 12-6-2009 at 12:31 PM
I thought wobble had more to do with just having 4 wheels, whereas a dirtsurfer or bike would normally have it's 2 wheels connecting to the ground and

speed wobbles occur in all curvilinear action with small balance points.
the growing tires oscillating mass has a threshold differential enough to effect the whole system with truck spring/tire rebound effect also added in
there as well, but in slower systems it is rider feedback that causes most problems when balance teeters too quickly for too long across the boards
balance point.

Choice of board is key to go fast, youŽll need a long board with stiff trucks.
106cm stiff wooden board with channel trucks Žll get you up to 40mph.
Problem is that these types of board arenŽt real suitable for freestyle (too heavy in weight and steering)
