hi i have a rage 2.5 and want an upgrade-i have been looking at the mac bego 400 and it seems such an amazing kite-i havent found one bad review about it and its everything i want in a kite. however, it is out of production so do you think i should still buy it? it would have to be second hand and i already have an offer for he kite, pulleys, lines and handles of $250-is this a good deal? would you be worried about getting a second hand kite that was not being made anymore?
thank you
ben

pulleys?:puzzled: i thought these were fixed bridle kites ....and no--i wouldnt be afraid about getting a second hand kite from here--you better buy this kite before someone else snatches it up--at that price it wont last long......

My begos are the only kites I can't really see myself ever selling. They are such a unique kite and perform so well (once tuned). They aren't for everybody but for those who take the time to learn to fly them, they are outstanding. I'd buy it at that price just because they are no more and you get a chance to own a bit of kite history - that and the fact they'll out pull just about any other kite of comparable size. Great kites. Too bad they discountinued them instead of bringing out a II series.

Buy The Kite or...

More importantly.... please take it off my radar screen ;-)

Nope... just got one today.

There's some very useful info in the thread from when SecondWind was selling his Mac Para Bego 600 here:
http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=8787&pa...

Don't be put off by the text density of the instructions, I suspect it is one of those things where doing it is simpler than explaining it.

There is more than enough collective knowledge on PKF to answer any questions you have about the kite, once you get it in your sweaty little mitts.

Not sure what the color on the 400 is, but the 600 was gorgeous.

ATB,
Sam

This thread is making me want to keep this kite. All the stuff b-roc says is true but I need to reallocate some assets (atb replacement, thanks Dakitez) and this kite spends most of its time on the shelf because of my bigger kites. It is a good deal. Go for it or I might pull it if someone buys some of my other kites.
