Hope you had a great day Ken. Any excuse for a day off work when it is windy works for me.

Happy belated Canada day guys. It's blowing zero here and 40C (104F) with no change expected in the forcast.
I'm envious right now.
Counting down the days to SOBB...

Well ...... I'm not the bravest Canadian :embarrased:

I am still licking wounds and avoiding bruises from my recent attempts at jumping.
Yesterday I launched the 15m Syn. 3 times. Each time going to safety because the wind felt too strong. Each time I felt I maaaay be O.K. then chickened out. I rolled it up and walked back to the car for my wind meter to see what was too much wind for me and the 15m. Turns out it was 18 - 22 kts. so I would say that 18 is about enough for me , on land.

I rolled out the trusty old Pulse. I went to launch it and felt I was overpowered again :duh: I'm not sure what is wrong with me then I checked and it was 22 - 27 kts. I am finding I can't judge wind speed as well when it is strong like that.

I was having one of those days that I wanted / needed to go out and fly but had this major hesitation playing out in the back of my head even before I headed out ? I could have gotten in trouble if I had actually kept the Syn. up so as unhappy as I am, Im glad I chose to back off. :saint:

I am sorry it just wasn't your day ken but me on the other hand went to GP after the Canada day parade in Steveson around 1:00pm and decided that my 2 meter beamer was the kite of choice.
I thought about putting up my 2 meter Ace but glad I didn't as I was almost being pulled out of the bug as it was in those nuclear winds....almost thought I was back at NABX...lol
Had a great afternoon though....5 hours of buggying with no harness does wonders for the arms.
Tired as hell and sunburnt but totally worth it.
Don't feel bad about not flying the Syn as Ricardo only had his up for half an hour before he put it away.
It was an awesome Canada Day!:wee:

Cheers

yah, i was on day #4 of flying (tired) ... i will say that the Syn 15 goes passed 27 Knots no problem even for a ultra-lite asian guy like me.
wish we had more space because flying in the air takes up a lot of ground, and there are buggiers down below. ROFL.

WOW

You are packing a huge set between those skinny legs !

I could hold down the Syn at 22 but didn't feel at all safe. Can't imagine 27? You must have been getting some crazy air ? At 22 I just had to pull in to get lifted . :borg:

Oh well, my Canadian flag made a nice skirt :bigok:
