New Record
Well, Arjen van der Tol, has to be THE worlds most dedicated buggier, not only did he break the long standing speed record this year at Ivanpah with a
speed of 124.00kmh / 77.05mph
....in case you didn't know he also was in the team for the 24 hour distance record which stands at 1050km / 652.439m
He, has now gone out and broken the single distance record....a remarkable 452.00kmh / 280.85m
What a fantastic achievement by Arjen, many congratulations, and well done for setting such fantasic benchmarks for us all to aim for. He is the
Michael Schumacher of buggying
All his and other records are logged here http://pic7.piczo.com/Popeyethewelder?g=50572934

libre spirit / libre protask
this happened at this years Fano Event. Arie also tried to break the Tandem Speed Record as well. However #@%$#! happened...
Quote: | "ok, lets do this in englisch so everybody is up to speed ;-)
Arjen and Stefan (french fries fan) where attempting to break the tandem record set at 84 km/h. At 82.... Stefan started to drift and got back on
track but at that point arjen was drifting in the opposite direction. Still not a huge problem but when the foot step of the rear buggy hitted the
rear tire of the front buggy at 80+ you'll know what will happen. Arjen's buggy launched en arjen got thrown out. After a tumble or 5 he found out
that his left hand en foot weren't working that good any more.
The doctor at the island wasn't on duty any more at 10 in the evening so with some painkillers he slept well. This morning he and Peter (faas) left
for holland to see a doctor over there. Arjen was feeling well this morning and just wasn't able to use his hand, probably something broken but let's
wait for the pictures. His foot was sort of all right.
We'll keep you informed via this forum and the blog.
ps, the record wasn't broken.....
cheers
emiel
