Jellyfish sting..... buggying....

I received my first jellyfish sting buggying.... We get a lot of man of wars washing up on the beach this time of year.. They look like small inflated blue baloons... I'm cruisin down the beach, hear a loud POP, and seconds later I have this burning on my chest..... Guess I will take great pains to avoid them in the future........

Wife got swiped by something in Indonesia one year we were there, maybe 10 years ago. She still got the scar!
Take care out there - those cute little jelly fish can be killers!

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Ouch. I just have to deal with wood, hidden holes dug by kids and horse/dog mines. No killer jellyfish  We have some weak red jellyfish but they usually only seems to be around in the early spring. You know good instant aid for a sting is to pee on the wound, yes this does work, not sure how you'd pee on your chest... but on the bright side, you had wind to fly! (I've been skunked for 1.5 weeks)

If anyone goes this route, could you please capture and post the video of the subsequent conversation you have with the park ranger? Pretty please ;)

As for the latter speculation (peeing on your chest), I would expect it would be while you are on your back, and another reason to invest in a full face helmet.

We've had them wash up on Jekyll, and they dry out like little translucent rocks. I've caught a rim on them in a powerslide a few times and flipped the bug.
