If your wife is anything like mine , she laughed so long the battery went dead....tell her to turn off the camera till she's done laughing.

A lot  they need a good blow to get moving, I don't bother even trying unless the wing will float on the wind without me lifting it up - but then it's rocking :) 6m/s is the bottom end for skates, probably 8ms/s for a board on a good hard surface ... say, 15mph plus and you're grinnin' ;)

They're fairly depowerable too  you got a good control on that ... although the first time I tried it I was hanging on for dear life to try and get moving and I got nailed by a gust and went flying downwind :D now I hold the bars with less of a death grip so the wind will pull the wing out of my hands, not me off the board ...!

Are those wings any good for gusty inland conditions, or does the wind need to be real smooth?

If you want to ride, gusty is fine - I've been using it in a park with trees on all sides and assorted other obstacles. It's easy to sheet out and ride out the gust or dig in and power up big time. Needs a good amount of wind to do it's thing, but once it's going it gets into the apparent wind real nice and hauls ass.

Of course, smooth wind would be nice :)

Hmmmm.... I have a friend who was thinking of combining a wing and a set of doom wheels.
I was thinking of combining it with an ATB.
Sometimes I just don't want to deal with lines, you know?

Here, the avaliable spaces are so limited that 20m lines would be too long ... the wing is perfect for those places, close to home. I'd love to get a dirtsurfer but none in Japan and shipping is appalling from the UK or Australia!

My contribution to wind (and board) addiction :)
I personally like to ride it on concrete (parking lot) to have a better grip for carving
