A Little Confused...

Hey guys and gals,

I just purchased a 2006 Slingshot bar with the 5th line safety off of Ebay, and in the description the seller said that the bar is tuned so that the lines are equal length when the bar is fully powered. I asked him if he meant to say that it was the opposite, that the lines were equal when the bar was in the fully depowered position, and he assured me that my description was was the wrong setup. So now I would like some advice because my Blaze II depower is set so that the lines are equal when the bar is fully depowered, and to my understanding that's the way all depower kites are setup. Any clarification would be much appreciated and thanks in advance!

General rule of thumb for kitebars of depower kites:

lines are of equal length with the bar fully powered (that is, with bar pulled into the stopper immediately above the chicken loop, and the trim strap or trim adjuster let out completely). Additional knots or relocating knots on the leaders can get you to this configuration.

I don't remember how I had my blaze II's setup. I think they were all equal with the bar out and the de-power strap all the way out. But not sure. Just try it the way it is and see what happens. Almost guaranteed you will have to make adjustments no matter which way the bar is set up.

My Montana lines are all equal length when powered up and trim out. When fully depowered the back lines are slack.
