New collegiate club - UND Snowkite Club
Hey guys!
We officially founded the UND Snowkite Club this past year at the University of North Dakota. Throughout the past year we founded the club and have
been building to get in full operation. We know have over 30 members in the group and 11 riders since the club started.
North Dakota (Grand Forks area) holds some massive fields during the winter. Being almost perfectly flat, some fields are so big that the earth
curves before you can see trees on the horizon. Winds are constant and turbulence free due to the lack of obstacles. It is certainly a place that
calls kiters of all types to ride.
Visit our site at snowkiting.com/undsnowkiteclub for more info
Happy riding!

Well the best months are anytime the snow is down. Since the wind is literally always blowing, it all depends on the snowcover. Snow comes around
december and stays through early spring.
Predicting snow gets kinda tricky though. Its so cold here that the snow is very light, and blows in the wind like crazy. If it snows when the wind
is lower then it will make a decent pack. If it snows while the wind is blowing, you might not have more than half an inch of cover while there are 5
foot drifts behind cars lol. After the month of december there is almost always a ridable surface though. Not to worry
And yes please to the pkf get together! u2u me or somethin
Thanks guys

Yes, lots of wide open spaces and snow up in this area. But for real wide open spaces, I gotta mention that Lake of the Woods is only 2.5hrs from UND
(Grand Forks ND)
If the snow cover is minimal over that way, don't hesitate to head up to the Big Lake. You can ride or ski literally for miles and if you're feeling
really adventurous, you can head north to either the Manitoba or Ontario portion of the Lake, with the proper credentials, of course. I'm fortunate
(or unfortunate depending on your point of view) to live about 30 minutes west of this snowkiting destination.
