Wheel spacing

Have anyone experimented with wheel spacing?

For instance having the front wheel 4" away from the boot and having the rear wheel only 1/2" away. Or vide versa, or having both 2" away etc etc...

I've only experimented using equal spaces. The skates I use most often are set at 1/2 inch between wheels and boot providing the shortest wheelbase for turning. Another pair spaces the wheels 6 inches from the boots for more traction and stability at high speed. I use this pair of skates for long fast runs across a desert lakebed - they are too long for use on a short field. But that's not to say that the short pair is not good for speed, I've been up to 60 with them by kite power and 70 pulled by a car. :tumble:
