Yes you have it laid out right. Make sure you hook up your brake bridle first.

You should have several different knots on you brake leaders on the kite. You will have to adjust them according to the wind. Closer to the kite for more brakes, further away for less brake. Your brake lines should have slack in them when the kite is in the air, but should get enough tension on them to bring the kite down with good input on your handles, If your kite seems like it want to keep on falling than you either have the brake lines to tight or there is just not enough wind.If it is pretty windy and your kite wants to lift off when you are staked than you make not have enough brake, move up to the next knot. I know you didn't ask for this info, but it is important info anyway.
