wondering if anyone had any experience with these?
They've gotten good reviews on amazon.... just curious?
i had heard Kodak makes one very similar... but im search engine impared today and cannot find it... hmm

The Flips have gotten pretty good reviews (flaws and nits were very model specific). See if there is any information on the particular models
tendency to lens flare, how quickly it adjusts exposure (as you move in and out of shade), and ghosting issues.
If you are really interested in the Flip, go to YouTube and type "Flip Video Camera". There are video reviews of several models as well as test
footage. See if the quality matches your needs.
The Kodaks are here:
http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=13063&a...
You local Radioshack should have a full complement of them if you want to drop by and play with the floor model. I refrained from doing that because
I didn't trust my self control.
POV is on the high end, but the price reflects it.

yes self control is a mutha... i started looking at the flip myself and wound up with a sony. the model i got was $450 on sale (hdr-cx100). shoots
1080i is about the size of a can of red bull. they also have one in the same league as the flip which is geared towards the internet called the
'Webbie'. $200 bucks 1080i supersimple a little better i think than the flip.

If you want to make good videos while crusing in a buggy or mtb then you need a POV. There are alot on the market so look around..
I got mine including 3 diffrent lenses for 150euros. then all you need is a normal video camera with an analog in and you are set to go.
I bought an extension cable for mine and now I can have the camera up to 40 meters (~120 feet) away from the video recorder. I have some great shots
from out of the kite looking back at me.

I've got a Flip HD and the video quality isn't too bad. But any tiny movement and the video becomes VERY shaky. If you try to hold it while riding a
mountainboard I would imagine the video would be useless.

Insignia® - 5.0MP High-Definition Digital Camcorder with 3" Swivel LCD Screen $100.00
I bought this for a hundred bucks expecting little but it turned out to be a great little camera. The only real issues that I found was in overcast
situations it had problems picking up adequate light. Here are some video's showing a bright setting and a low light setting.
Bright setting <---click
Overcast setting <---click
VholdR Contour HD Wearable Camcorder $279.00
Very nice picture but again when thrown into a low-light situation it will give you some problems. I don't have any low-light video because I just
don't save them. So with this camera the more light the better.
Binary Lies video <---click
For water I would go with the GoPro. It has a water proof case and delivers good footage on both low light and bright light. I don't have one but will
be looking at the new GoPro
that is due this fall allowing 1080i recording. It will be interesting to see if they have truly corrected the short battery life issue.
My opinion on the POV was that for that much money I would have expected a little better quality video.
If money were no object then I would have a Sony's HXR-MC1 $2799.00
Video here
Anyone thinking of a early Christmas gift for me this would be the ticket :saint:

Things that caught my eye on the GoPro HD
MSRP $299 US :wee:
Every HD Helmet HERO camera comes standard with an internal RF transceiver that allows consumers to add a wireless stereo microphone and remote,
both with a range of 30 feet.
Have a creative idea for a video that requires an external wred mic? Not a problem thanks to the external wired-mic jack built into the side of
the camera.
The company upgraded to a rechargeable lithium-ion battery and an internal heating system to keep the power source warm, which will be great for
winter use.
Want to plug in an external power source to keep your camera going longer than the 2.5 hours provided by the internal battery? No problem, you
can do that, too.
The HD Helmet HERO comes standard with industry’s widest-angle lens of 170 degrees.
Due to the wide angle lens, the GoPro doesn't have a viewfinder or LCD on the back as standard.
There will also be an LCD "backpack" that you can clip on to the back of the camera.

Sam

If you called Amazon Customer Service, they should have provided you a link to print a UPS shipping label. And the refund is wicked fast. Maybe an
annoying lesson, but you really shouldn't be out of pocket for any money.

Its all good, they are taking it back, no questions asked, no issue at all... amazon is good indeed!
When is that gopro hd supposed to drop? It looks, well ugly as hell (big gray box), but the idea behind is sweet, and so is the price tag... what is
the release date? I cant find anything on it, other than the press release a few months back...

All I heard was this fall sometime. I want to wait and see the actual videos that it produces. Plus quality in low light/shadow areas would be my
main area of concern.

Small gray box Drew ... I'd say it'd be half the size of your Flip thing.
On the bike, the GoPro handles changes in light pretty well for what it cost IMO - riding through tunnels is fine and the transitions are ok ... for
what it's worth, it's good

I am OK with the plain Jane wrapper. I saw the current GoPro in an REI this weekend.
The non-descript gray box is less likely to scream "Hey, I'm a $300 camera, take me home!" to the general public.
One of the nicer accessories is the lens replacement kit which is a nice replacement for the waterproof lens cover rather than having to shuck the camera in case of the inevitable
mishap.

I recently got my hands on a kodak zx1.
The camera records in 720 P
its actually not bad ive only done a few tests with it, but looking at the videos people hav eused it for on youtube i was impressed...
The camera is also weather proof, so a little bit of water on it wont do any harm, but its not made to be submerged into water.
over all im happy with it, and it was USD $140.00 along with a sd memory card for 12.99
