Flysurfer Speed 2 12-17?

I think I've just realized something that I hadn't up until now...I just saw a close up of the decaling on a S2 12 and beside the 12.0 label it had that little arc deformer image and below it it said "12-17". Does this mean that a Speed 2 12m is actually a 12-17m?! So is my PsychoIII actually a 17-25m? Is that how it works.......it would explain why the kites are so freaking powerful - that's for sure.

Am I missing something here? I gotta go unroll my Psycho and see.

its an attempt at a conversion table to an LEI C-kite

its my understanding that its saying you would need a 17m C-kite to achieve the same low end power your 12m Speed 2 generates. In reality its more complicated since the bigger LEI's get very heavy and start falling out of the sky. but I think if you don't factor weight in then it works somewhat accurately.

by today's standards with super flat high aspect light wind SLE's (Freakdog EZE for example) the conversion is further complicated.

I kinda wish they would size kites based off of projected area. I feel like it would provide a better kite size to wind speed scale.

And the Speed 2 19m says 19-26.... An SP2 12m is about the power of an average 14m SLE or so.

As how they used this graphic... older one.

And to complicate things even more the Speed 3 changes it's projected are by about 20% which allow a ton on depower. They first used on the Psycho 4....

Say a SP3 12m now has a projected area of 10.2 but changes 21% when powered up... with triple depower...

In the real world riding it adds more range on upper end... Twisted my arm to get a SP3 12m Deluxe... toy...

Cool vid on triple depower.

Hey PB - Just spent the last 1/2 hour looking at all your SA2 19 YouTube vids (the one that just sold on here had me dreaming it had been me ; )

To hijack myself.....what was/is the diff between the SA2 and the SA2.5?

The Silver Arrow 2 or speed X super lightweight fabric was .24 skytex and 2.5 some of us called it but made up since it was then the Dleuxe Edition Fabric .27 created by FS and stronger (Kite will last longer) and .27 ribs as well rather than regular fabric ribs...

Then some 2.5's like my gold SP 2.5 19m. Yes 2.5...19m

That's the idea, share the stoke... so much fun and power in light stuff... Fun Factor...

in the vid and some others came with the Infinity bar... just before the speed 2 AKA 2.5 Deluxe Editions and SP3...

Most powerful kites and range for their size... Kind of spoils us for sure... It does what it does... makes us more of an addict...

I think there really was an officially named speed 2.5 for awhile between the speed 2 and the deluxe edition.

the reason why I say that is I remember seeing it on the home page of flysurfer.com earlier this year.

Sort of but Armin told me it wasn't. He said that the reason it wasn't 2.5 is that there was no kite design change other than material... but I still think it's good to use since there is quite a difference in what you get, some how to distinguish one from the other ... to say that it's stronger fabric, good for guys to know..

Even with the Infinity bar it was Speed 2 Deluxe Edition and Deluxe meant (Infinity bar, black bag and new colors but still SP2 design).

But Sp2's are still amazing...
My Gold...What a day.. AKA 2.5

The speeds. overall most powerful depower kites for there size, fun to be on.
