I have one of those - works great - just ordered 2 more to keep the rigs assigned to kites. There are a few mods to do to them - I personally don't like the really long center line leaders (thin orange line) that come with them - from what I remember the bar leaders (grey cord) are like a couple of feet long - so I usually take the bar leaders and cut them in half and then replace the front line leaders (that attach right above the depower strap) with the other half. The chicken loop with the trigger release is one of the best releases I've used - easy to release and easy to reset.

Does it matter if we use a different bar than the PL carbon one? or would any regular 4 line de-power bar be ok, as long as we attach the lines to the right specs...

Sure, I've used Airush, Caution and other bars with my PL's. Just make sure all 4 lines are even and you probably will want a fairly long center line to th chicken loop. Most kitebars can be adjusted to this.

Regarding the Airush bars, I just got an email from them and all they have left are 45 and 50 cm bars.

Just received the 2 bars that I ordered - were a bit long in arriving because they were initially out of stock but the guy was really professional about it and threw in two line sets for the delay. 2 bars + shipping = $142 Us dollars. Awesome deal alone but with the lines thrown in - Amazing.
