Pansh Ace 4.5 Jumps

Hi, i will use this thread for the jumps on my 4.5 Ace, the camera phone quality isnt good but i hope to film with a better camera in the future, in these vids the wind was blowing 1 to 12 constant so it wasnt very strong but the Ace loved it and so did i.

I always hear about people having problems with the Ace luffing at the edge of the window and after jumps, i have flown my ace enough now to have learnt how to not make it collapse after jumps, obviously always redirect, if you forget to the Ace will let you know about it :D

I cant wait to get a bigger Ace because i love the Raw feel that it gives me, i flew a few Blades and they feel too sane and stable ifthat makes any sense?.

Anyway heres a few to start off with, this is my progressive jumping thingy bob.

Sorry about the camera phone quality :)

Bro, those were great jumps man. Brings back memories of my 5 meter Ace. I miss that kite allot.

that 4.5 will get you some serious hang time especially in stable 20-25mph winds. Dont let people tell you is a crap kite because it not, they are just stubborn idiots.

Such a great wing, I plan on buying more Aces when I can afford to dish out the Green. I really want the 12, 9, and 5.

Thanks for the kind words man, im looking at getting the 8m next for those lighter wind days.

20-25mph, maybe a bit too much wind for me and the 4.5 but if im on sand, its worth a go lol, highest wind ive flown in is about 20mph and i was overpowered all the time on the ace, i didnt jump because i was on grass.

Definitly right about Aces, the lift they generate is great, buy the end of that day the kite was full of sand so we employed the muck outs and it felt like a different kite, the only problem i get with the Ace now is that sometimes you have to work it up to the zenith but i enjoy the challenge.

yeah i started to notice that on mine to, i think its because of bridal strech. Ive seen tutorials on this forum on how to fix it to brand new, it only involves implying a few knots on the right bridal strings, i think its definantly worth the research. it could be your pansh lines too, check to make sure they are even? Um, yeah most likely it's the bridal.
good luck man:thumbup:

if you have to work the ace up to the zenith you're not powered up, or the wind is turbulent, very likely in the 1 to 12 winds you describe.

next time you have trouble working the kite up to zenith try slacking the brake lines right off, if it sort of flags out and refuses to power up and kind of hangs in the air dead downwind and about halfway up the window the wind is turbulent and you just have to wait it out. turbulent wind is messy airflow that won't allow your kite to develop enough constant speed to fly well unless you work it back and forth. you can get it to fly ok on this but it won't be jumpable until the wind is good and clean again.

often when the winds are gusty in my area i'll just let the kite flag out like that, as soon as the wind smooths out and begins to power up i send it off to the side, up a bit, and across to see if the clean gust will last long enough to get me a jump.

both the flag-out and the jump on the clean-gust power-up work best in lower winds on my 8, but it gets a bit gnarly in really gusty winds on my 5. the more intense gusts at higher wind speeds, the increased kite speed, and the lack of reliable float (esp. compared to the 8) all work together to make gusty winds really nervous powered up on my 5, less so on the 8 because it's all a bit calmer and slower. I'm sure your 4.5 would flag out the same in turbulent winds, but going straight for lift in the clean gusts might be a bit riskier.

around 15 mph or so on the 5 is when i stop having to run about so much to get a good jump out of it... sounds like you've flown those winds but haven't videoed it yet...

nice vids, thanks for sharing, yes the phonecam sucks bad but the jumps are clear...

sorry to jump in with the advice b4 the sunshine, hope you don't mind....

and yes if you didn't get hurt in 20 mph on grass you'll for sure survive 20-25 on sand...

my blade is sane and stable, i love that when i'm powered up enough to get head high by doing a jump without a run.

my aces all love to suck sand on reverse relaunches, btw, i don't do them anymore unless i've got enough wind to do them easily. takes longer to get sand out of the kite than to walk up and flip it over, in low winds no worries about the kie loose on the beach.

vid 3 is my favorite. nice stuff, thanks for sharing....

i've got one of the hundred-dollar aces from 2 years ago, hundreds of hours on it so far and no bridle stretch just yet.

can't say the same for my legend 3, twenty hours and it was toast.

my blade behaves the same way in the turbulent winds in between the lulls and the clean gusts.

IMHO, it's not the bridle.

unless pansh quality has degraded from two years ago LOL.

now that would be beyond weird and totally Fed Up.

TBH I Reckon your right Furb, its not the bridles stretching just yet, today my bro mucked it out completly, alot of sand in the wing and the bridles were inverted, he sorted it all out and its going straight back up again which is nice to hear

I agree that it picks up alot of sand when its upside down then it goes to the sides and bottom of the kite so you have to get out manually at home.

Anyway tomorrow they say its going to be a constant 15mph the same direction as the other day, im very much looking forward to it. Im sure that if we are going big i can record a few.
