Slingshot Octane vs. Machine
So I was doing some Youtube searching to keep myself occupied, and watched some videos of Machines and Octanes, specifically older models (2006 or
2007). So the two kites look fairly similar in design and shape, so I was wondering if anyone knew what the difference between the two is?

I found this:
OCTANE : High performance, contest riding, max up wind and jumping, 4 or 5 line, but benefits dramatically in windrange from using 5 line.
MACHINE : Dedicated lightwind powerhouse and performance machine ! This kite maximizes lightwind conditions and keep going once the wind picks up,
something rarely if ever found in lightwind kites. 5 line.

I wasn't a big fan of my 17.5 machine when i had it, very slow, far to heavy to be used properly in light wind, had strange pull - very little lift
for a C kite. Didn't enjoy my time on it :D I liked the octane better but the fuel is where it's at, the fuel's, even the old ones are excellent
kites.

Phreerider, what's wrong with it this time? When I had to replace that valve leak I ended up buying a new bladder set for my 15m Fuel as well, so
that I have spares if any of the rest start to go. Unfortunately, I heard that the Fuels had a chronic valve leak issue so that makes me kinda
nervous...

dump valve leak multiple patches ..i hit it one more time to ride it . the tube material is done. so i have a LE bladder still in the box.
valves, the weakest link in the bladder systems. thermal cycles plus tugs equals leaks
