Congrats
Hey, if you can slide, there is enough snow, just watch out for bare spots - you might leave your skis behind

Supposed to snow here tomorrow, but as usual the forecast keeps changing.

Ice on lakes here but not much, you need to come up this way some time. Endless lakes and nothing but room. Fawcett, Slave etc etc

Hey CanadaCoates, where are you located in Manitoba? I live just south of the border, about 2 hrs from Winnipeg in NW Minnesota. We just got dumped on with about 4-5 inches of wet heavy snow. Just a suggestion, if you are thinking about picking up another kite, depending on your weight, you might want to go a bit bigger than 8 meters. Once the snow gets deeper, it will take more power to pull you. Plus when you get a bit more experienced, you'll want more power anyway. That 5 meter would still be ok for your high wind kite.

Just for reference, I use a 6M Access XC and an 11M Frenzy as my two main snowkites; i weigh about 185lbs. I could probably use a larger one for light winds and deeper snow. Anyway, something to think about. Welcome to the sport!
