Well it seems we have all had issues of no wind in the lower 48. I built my own buggy, bought a helmet and pads. And just bought a sweet harness. I have been waiting for wind for at least two weeks. I had no work from Wednesday till friday and not a breath of wind. I woke up yesterday (saturday) at 5am to go to work and the wind was blowing like mad. It blew all day while I was in the work yard changing 8 tires on a trailer. When I got home it was total darkness with the wind still blowing. So I said "tomarrow I will get to play"
OK so I wake up this morning and it is so calm out that the flag is hanging dead on the pole. No wind at all!
Is this fair?
OK I'm done b*#@hing, I hope there is wind for some of you out there today. If there is think of us that are working on our honey do lists!!

Centural CT. at a hay feild up the road today. I think there is most likely wind at the beach but the car I haul my kites with is out of service and the one I'm driving is a Mazda Miata. I barley fit in it so no room for kites and buggy!

Ah... the wind is like a crappy girlfriend, she shows up whenever she wants and teases you mercilessly while you are occupied with life's necessities. She will tease you whenever your mind strays from her, calling out to you with sweet promises and cheap thrills. And when you are ready for her she will turn her back to you, leaving you frustrated and alone. When you go to leave her she will do a dance to entice you back into her arms. When you heed her calls and return to her, she will again turn her back to you and laugh. She will leave you for what seems like an eternity, all the while you see and hear of her exploits with others. She is a terrible girlfriend that only satiates your needs on her time.

Simply put we have a love affair with a fickle #@%$#!, and there is nothing we can do about it. We spend our down time watching wind porn (you tube, vimeo, and any other site with kite videos) and buying wind toys to appease a sense of release from our daily lives.

I really need some good wind, I really do.

Roc, I see what the problem is . It's all that buying new stuff. New, anything kite related , brings no wind for a while . Don't buy anymore kite stuff. And within 2 wks you will have wind.

feel free to use that - nice suggestion aj - since I'm waiting for my kite to be filled with wind my zippers are open as well. And to quote zloty, "when it doesn't blow it sucks".
