Ok, so I don't know if many of you have heard that Google has found a way to revolutionize email as we know it.

It's an hour long video describing how it works, if anyone's interested you can either request an invite from google, or I have 5 more invites on me, im sure it'll increase as in when they introduced gmail...

I've been in the Google Wave beta for a few weeks, it's neat, but with a limited user base, at the moment it's not really that useful, yet.

The potential is huge, but the user training is pretty steep. To be successful, Google will need to have people re-think communication, a pretty difficult task. Sadly, I think there are two things working against any change:

1) People are awash in too many new communication technologies.
2) People are stuck in e-mail, and frequently revert to the least common denominator.

If anyone can make this happen, Google can.

It won't offer the open nature of a forum but might replace some of the chats about local get togethers between close groups of friends. I can see repeated meet ups among the same groups moving to googlewave instead of using a public forum.

Thanks william_rx7 and Jolt. For some reason the invite didn't download to Thunderbird but when I checked Gmail there it was right underneath a email that I did get, weird. But im on now add me if you want my forum name @gmail.com

If possible they make sharing pictures and video pretty easy, if you guys want to create a thread for all of the pkf members to share pics that would be pretty cool...

Maven, Jolt and I just chatted using the wave. Its kinda wonky and slow right now. I added a pic to a wave, so it has some capabilities. Maybe a gimmick maybe changes the way we do things. We'll see.
