So I finally took the plunge and bought a Flexifoil Rage 3.5 for £216 which I thought was a bargain..... I got a good discount.

I also bought a second hand flexifoil landboard for £40 from ebay so I'm set up.

There's a but..... SO I had y kite delivered and I unpacked it and found that no lines were included. So I got back to Flexifoil who were ever good and sent me a set straight away. When I got the package I got lines and new handles. Also as a sorry they included a Tshirt and hoody.... SO I'm quite pleased.

I took it out for the first time on Monday in a nice 15Moh breeze which was perfect for me. Share it was dying off but I managed to get 45 minutes in.

So I was practicing the basic like launching and flying through the window. I could do with some tips with launching in reverse. I was having a few problems with this but I think as the wind was dropping I didn;t have enough pressure to lift it.

Any way I'm looking forward to my next outing..... If there is anyone in Exeter that fancies meeting up at some point to get some practice in drop me a line....

was the 3.5 good for your weight and height?

Now THAT'S customer service ... lowering themselves to address a short-coming in their service and rectifying the problem - in spades! Good ol' FF :D

Is the Rage a 4-line kite, on handles?
If yes, the reverse launching involves rotating the handles and pulling in the brake lines and, depending on the stability of the kite, backing it up then turning it and flying off.
If it's a 2-line kite, get your kite-monkey to go and turn it over

Don't be afraid of walking backwards to generate some pull, either ...

in light winds, you can swoop the handles down to your side with tops pointed to the kite (brakes full on), and do this while stepping back as Kamikuza suggests.

Then when the kite is just over a wing span off the ground, relax one of the handles (brakes off) to let it turn and fly it out. It may turn randomly in one direction or the other by itself, in one which just go with it. No worries if you go the "wrong way" and the lines are twisted. It will fly fine with a twist or two. To un-twist, fly it out with a kite loop, or do a little dance on your feet to spin around under the kite when it is at the zenith (overhead).
