Ivanpah Dry Lake
Wow, I didn't think I'd ever start a thread with that title, but here goes. I'll be making my way west with kites and buggy and I'll have most of a
day to play at Ivanpah. At the moment, it looks like I would be there on Wednesday the 16th. I would be planning a stopover at Kingman AZ the night
before and then drive in from there, probably arriving mid to late morning. I'll just hope there is a little wind blowing and the rain has soaked in
that fell there the last few days if it doesn't just soak in immediately. I will have the kiteboard just in case. Any locals that can make it or anyone willing to drive a little for a
meet up? I'll ride by myself, but it would be more fun with a like minded individual or two there, especially if they are regular visitors and can
offer advice. Who's in?

The Ivanpah lakebed is quite wet right now, but hopefully it will dry out by then. We had quite a bit of rain last night.
You may also want to check out Red Lake. This is a lake bed that is not that far from Kingman. It is actually a larger lake bed than Ivanpah and
just as smooth (except a couple large gouges running through the middle) but very buggy-able. We've had a couple trips out to Red Lake with
the gang and it is a great place to buggy.
Red Lake is located just outside of Dolan Springs just on the north-east side of the hills. You can reach it by either going out the back side of
Kingman or up through Dolan Springs.
I will mark Wednesday on my calendar and hopefully we can meet up at Ivanpah.

That sounds great AWOC. Red lake is actually more along my normal path too. U2U sent with phone number. Whichever lake you think will work best.
Is this Red Lake?

I've been searching for info on Red Lake, and this thread of yours is the best I've found so far. Do you have contact info for Rusty in Kingman? I
would like to get in touch with him!

I don't have any contact info for Rusty. I will check around and see if anyone in our group knows how to get in touch with him.

Kent we have had some rain blow through here. Has it hit you guys? I was just wondering if BB is going to be able to ride or if it will be too wet.

We've been back and forth on the phone the last bit and he ran into some tire trouble in Kingman which delayed his arrival in Vegas. With the recent
weather and rain (and my busy work schedule here) we concluded that today probably wasn't the best day to hit the lake bed. But he will be in the SW
area for a while so we are sure that we can work out some better days to go riding. He's going to run straight into Cali and get settled (last report
I received).
He's got a standing offer to use my demo buggies / kites anytime he can make it up to Vegas - which it sounds like that may be a big possibility and
could be quite regular. Looking forward to riding with him and accepting him into our buggy clan.
