Spreader Bar Questions
So I just picked up an XL Ocean Rodeo Session harness from Ashe and the reputation precedes this harness. The harness is in great condition, and is
extremely well constructed. I tried it on as soon as I opened the box and it is so comfortable and fits very well. The only problem I'm having with
it is the spreader bar. It is extremely hard to get the webbing straps back through the buckle on either side (under the zippered flap) I believe
the spreader bar is a 10" but I am not sure. I measured it and from end to end it is just over 11", but from the point where the webbing attaches it
is 10". This is why I am confident that it is in fact a 10" bar.
So my question is this; instead of purchasing a longer bar (12"), are there any quick release spreader bars that I can leave the webbing in and just
clip the spreader bar together? I did a little Google searching and found that Dakine makes a spreader bar like this called the Dakine Kingpin
spreader bar. (link below) The only problem with this is that the ends look like they are meant only for Dakine's lineup of harnesses and there is
no length mentioned. The webbing strap on the Ocean Rodeo is one thick strap of webbing. So are there any other known disconnecting spreader bars of
am I going to have to just deal with the annoying strap and buckle every time? I also tried looking for longer spreader bars but the longest I have
seen is 12". Does anyone know of a 15" long spreader bar for the larger guys?
The other option that would make this situation a little bit easier would be to get one of those spreader bar hooks that goes on the webbing. My
Mystic has one of those that you just hook through the spreader bar in and pull the webbing to make it tight. I have not been able to find any of
those either, so if anyone knows where I could get one, please let me know.

That's a cool looking harness Carl! It seems like Naish's lineup of harnesses include that "Click In" Spreader bar, but they don't sell the bars
separately. Is it part of the harness or the bar? I'm not really interested in buying yet another harness...

Actually, when i bought my harness i bought a large which came with a 12in spreader bar, which fitted perfectly for landboarding when i was wearing
afew layers, but as i also wanted to use it on the water i also bought a 6in spreader aswell. you just need to find a naish dealer and they'll be
able to get hold of a spreader for you.

Thanks Carl! I found some shops that have 2009 Naish Click In spreader bars so I sent a few emails. It definitely looks like the solution to my
problem.
