Hilton Head South Carolina (Beach Access)

Can anyone tell me what the deal is with Hilton Head South Carolina? I am thinking about traveling there in the near future and thinking about bringing some kites, maybe a landboard and or Blokart. Does anyone know what the beaches are like there and if there are any restrictions? Thanks.

hey JOE, glad to have you come this way . posted restrictions on a thread maybe a year ago can't remember.

basic rules are

water scene is wide open, except main beach with swim markers.

land thing april to oct. prohibited during the day 10am-6pm

land sailing. rare for sure, i know one guy may see him out 2-3 a year. large tidal pools and heavy crowds have made it difficult, i think . had some incident few years back which was the reasons restrictions. along with dogs! very sensitive subject.

beaches are patroled, i know the beach patrol and deputies. very nice people

the open slower seasons full on kite stuff. only rule of passive safety is you have to trek away from people and acces points

tell me where you are going and i can give a jump on spot with low hassle. only one big parking spot for a drive in situation.

i 'll search out the PKF for the picture of the sign.

the resort is actually on a small island in shelter cove. "across the street " solid 15 min ride to the beach on bikes.
