HQ Neo I (mods/tips)

So I picked up the 11m Neo a couple weeks ago and have tried to sift through the forums to address some of the shortfalls of this kite. From what I've heard, remove the primary safety extension (red ball thing, gets in the way) use a leash attached to brake line at the ground stake connect point, locktite the nut on to the trim strap adjuster, and file the notches on the bar to hold the rubber bands better that hold the line.

Whew, Think I got all that. Wind has been uncooperative recently, so the first time I had it out it was pushing the low end of the range, and I had the trim set wrong that day. Recently it has been too windy (22-35mph) for me to be comfortable with a new kite, but just wondering if I've hit everything, or if any of you have tips to improve the safety and/or general flying of this kite. I know a lot if going to be personal preference, but lets hear it. =)

Yep, that's it. Big jump going from 4m FB to the Neo 11, so be carefull. D o you have help? Start with 8-10 mph if you can and you will be OK. The leash will not matter as much at that point but have it anyway.

Thinking I may take a class in MN. For some strange reason there doesn't seem to be a big kiting community in SD, or at least not well published which is odd seeing as we are something like the 4th windiest state.
